2 of my friends, who were actually the first people I called didn't sound as excited as I thought they would. Maybe it was because it was 1:45am and they were sleeping or maybe because they thought that it was about time!

I'm the first of my friends to get married to and I don't think everyone really knew how to react..everyone said they were happy and they congratulated us but that was about it.

i had one friend who i told and the first thing out of her mouth was 'what does the ring look like?' not congrats, or anything

Everyone is happy for us but I guess certain people I would have liked to be more excited as I was for when it was their time being engaged. I had a co-worker who got teary eyed because she was so happy for me.... and a cousin who never asked to see the ring when we saw each other in person for the first time being engaged. I was trying to get her to notice so I was using my left hand to reach for a drink and that's when she saw it and said 'Oh, that's your ring.... hmm... it's nice... simple' (it's a solitaire). I dunno... but she's a BM now. I'm not going to hold her reaction against her.

PS: Today is our 6 Months Being Engaged!!!

My best friend knew before me and she took almost a week to call me! When we did talk she didn't seem so happy. We got into a huge fight and now we are ok.

i called like my child hood best friend and told her and she was just like cool...i was excpecting like jumping up and down and so on lol

Well everyone was pretty happy for us but i have this one friend that is just completely against marriage. I never talk about wedding details with her. As a matter of fact a mutual friend of ours is getting married too and she basically said to our mutual friend that it is stupid to have a big wedding and to spend all that money on one day. Needless to say, i didn't put her in my wedding party because we're not that close anyway. We have different mentalities right now and she feels so strongly against weddings that i don't want to deal with her negativity. She's been in small fights with our mutual friend over this subject. Funny thing is that she'll most likely be married one day because she's been dating her BF for about 4 years and she's always on facebook saying how in love she is with him. I think he's the one that wants to get married irconically enough.
