***QOTD 2/22/09***

First of all I want to thank DinaAndRob for passing her crown onto me!! I was totally not expecting it and I am super excited!!!

So here's my first question as BOTW I hope to do you all proud!!

As I sit here and think about my upcoming wedding, I can't help to think about how two families are going to come together (and how the heck are we gonna make that work!) - especially with some weirdo in-laws

So my question is.......what kind of traditions do you plan on passing down to your children that you loved as a child? And are there any traditions that you and FH do already that make your relationship so special?

for me I really loved eating dinner at the dinner table everynight with my mom, dad and brother. it was our time to actually be heard as kids. my parents always asked us questions about or day and we felt special that they wanted to hear all we had to say.

I dont remember ever eating before my dad got home or ever leaving the table until everyone was done. this is definetly something we will do with our kids.

as for me and FH we make sure we have date night every once in a while. i think it is important to keep the spark alive especially when kids come around.

This is a great question! I actually want to continue FH's family tradition of yearly Florida vacations since my family never went on vacation. I have gone with FH's huge family 3 times and it is always so much fun. My family usually ate dinner together every night as well and I want to continue that tradition. I also want FH and I to start our own family tradition. He proposed on a camping trip at a place where he went with his friend and his friend's family every year. FH and I want to make that place a family vacation for us as well.

FH will want to continue the tradition of going to cut down the Christmas tree every year. Honestly, I'd be happy with artificial, and can do without the tree, but we've compromised and said we'll get the balled ones so we can plant them in the backyard after.

A tradition I'd really like to carry on but will not be allowed to is deli food on Christmas eve, cold cut sandwiches and salads, and chinese food on Easter. Maybe if orthodox and catholic don't fall on the same day I'll be able to swing the chinese food...otherwise he definitely won't let me!
