Hi ladies, thanks for all your great responses to all my QOFTD postings! With that being said today's question is, when planning your wedding, what was your absolute 'must haves' that you were willing to splurge on, or stretch your budget for?

Mine and my FH's would have to be our photographer and honeymoon. I think our photographer/honeymoon was the second and third priciest splurge after our venue. We use to joke that photography was def important, because it would remind us of our special day when we're both rolling on our motor scooters in our 90s, saying, 'I recognize those two' lol

Photography I thought would be a big one that I was willing to splurge on, but it turned out I didn't need to splurge to get the one I wanted!! The other one that I was willing to splurge on was my band! 9 piece live music, nothing better!! SO looking forward to it all coming together :)

I thought that it would have been photo/video also but it turned out to be the venue. We initially just wanted an affordable venue because that's a big chunk of the budget. We went to 12 different venues and just couldn't fall in love with anything and realized that we had to spend more to get what we wanted. When we walked into the Venetian, we were like FINALLY!! Haha

Photo/video was #1 as well as a great honeymoon, lol. My dress was a splurge that my mom so generously covered. I don't know if I would have looked at twice at the price tag on my own, God bless her.

Definitely photographer. That was one thing we were 100% okay with splurging on.

we both agreed to splurge on photography. we didn't want the typical wedding photography, so we didn't go through a studio. our photographer has her own business that she operates out of brooklyn, and does amazing work.

Definitely photo/video. I fell in love with North Island and knew I needed to have them. I wasn't expecting them to be so $$$$ but I knew if I had settled I'd regret it.

I had also planned on splurging on our honeymoon, but since we ended up getting a great deal and going to Hawaii in 2012 where we got engaged, where do you go after that?! We're still spending a nice amount, but not nearly as much as I'd thought.

Pretty much all our vendors have been reasonable and not really a 'splurge.' Our real splurges are definitely our honeymoon to Grenada and some of the add ons we're getting at the reception. FH and I LOVE seafood so getting the raw bar was important to us. We also wanted to add Bridgeview's Vodka Bar that a few other brides have recommended to me. I think it will be so much fun! Wishing we could splurge on a steel drummer for cocktail hour but i think that might be one splurge we cut out.

I think our splurge was our venue. I knew chateau briand was where I wanted my reception so I knew I would make the price work and I wouldn't go somewhere else just because they were more affordable.

Venue and video/photo were definitely our two biggest splurges. Each payment to Flowerfield hurts a bit but I know it will all be worth it

ours was definitely the music

We both agreed to splurge on the Honeymoon and Videographer! We are going to Hawaii so no matter how many different ways that I looked into it, the price was always the same, but i keep telling my self that its better to spend the money on an experience that we remember forever! As for the video, I've always been obessed with making movies and I love how it can completely bring you back in time! That was a must splurge!
