Good morning ladies,

Since we are so close to tie the knot my question is:

HOW ARE YOU PLANNING TO KEEP YOUR MARRIAGE LOVING AND LONG LASTING???
**************************************************************

Personally the word 'marriage' scares the crap out of me. Because as a women I feel I need to maintain my marriage intresting. I been living with FH for 2 years already which it feels like we been married for that long. I def. want to keep our sex life very intresting, spicy and different. Also, have an open communication, be a team, be friends, be a loving wife, take great care of him etc.

(I can keep going on and on) but I want to know what you ladies are planning!!!!!!!!!!!

Continuing to love, respect, and honor each other. Communication is a big piece of our relationship and that will be key to continuing what we have now into our marriage. I am SO excited to be marrying him and to be officially starting our life together. Laughter is also another piece that's part of who we are as a couple, and knowing we always have eachother for anything. He's my glue and I am his, and I plan on making sure that we always stick to eachother

Always, always, always communicate with him. We've been living together for over a year now and it's been the best for our relationship. We have grown so much together!

COMMUNICATION. Being open with what we each need.

By always being honest with one another (even if the other person may not want to hear it), trusting each other, and being each other's best friend. Those are the big things that matter (at least to us).

Love, trust, honor and communication. We will always put aside time for just 'us' and we refuse to let anything get in the way of our relationship. We both complete each other! We also enjoy going to diff places and trying new things all the time so thats great too

doing new fun things together, trying stuff together, a cooking class, horse back riding...just stuff so we can share experiences

once the kids arrive, having a mandatory 'date night' so we don't lose our connection.

forgiving one another

not holding grudges

giving each other space when needed

and being honest, even when its hard

sex is important, but I've made it a mission to talk to couples that have been married (happily) for over 30 years and they all say the same thing

sex takes a back seat at some point
but it doesn't mean the love isn't there

I guess im just not worried about it

I agree after 30 years it def. takes a back seat...but for now I think it's crucial.

This Exactly. Couldn't have said it better!

From the beginning we've referred to each other as our 'partner in crime' - it's something that seems really simple but we always reinforce that no matter what, there is nothing in the world strong enough to pit us against each other.

Whenever we feel like an argument is getting out of hand, we remind ourselves of all the things we've accomplished together already, and compare our current 'problem' to things we've put up with in past relationships - puts things in perspective real quick!

It's an awesome feeling knowing that even though we may be frustrated at that moment, there are certain things - like trust, commitment, etc - that will never come into question.

And that usually leads right into sexy time... hahahah!!

Communication, Trust, Honestly and Faith is def some of the major components for us.

I have been with FH for 6 years, living together for 4 1/2 (God Help me...lol). I would say in the 6 years, communication has helped us through some of the hardest of times. Learning to talk to each other and actually HEAR what the other person is trying to say is essential.

Sexy time is important as it's part of the union and you want to keep your significant other happy, but there are times that it really takes a back seat even if unintentional. I can speak from experience when I say after my son, working full time and other day to day stress, your mind is not always in it....FH feels neglected at times, but that is something to work on.....

I think saying that sex right now is 'crucial' is a pretty strong statement - now dont get me wrong, I'm all about it with FH lol.

But IMO (and just my opinion) there are soooo many other crucial things that should be worked out and must be worked out. To me, sex is just an added bonus - I just think other groundwork that needs to be established is a lot more crucial now then the doing the deed which then makes doing so that much better, but that could just be me.

Re: *****QOTD 2/9/11*****

this is gonna sound horrible ...but the truth is

I've had the most satisfying sex with the FH because of the love, respect, safety and over all relationship we share.

however i can't say that we've had the most mind '
blowing OMG sex ' i've ever had

My ex- was AMAZING in the sack-
he was kinky and crazy, and brought out a different side of my sexuality

that being said... emotionally I was the loneliest , saddest, and felt the most alone. Even the physically amazing sex didn't do anything to bring our relationship closer.

So I'll take great sex, over mind blowing, cause when i wake up in the morning I know my FH is gonna look me in the eyes and see his whole world

I'm not worried about the sex, cause to me personally, there are more important things than achieving the big O
