*QOTD 3/21/13*

Happy Thursday everyone. I feel like Thursday is such a tease. It's like the week is almost over get happy......but there is still one more day so don't get too happy.
Today I have a two part question.

Is there anything that at first you said that you were not doing for you wedding that you added?
Are there things that you didn't know existed until you joined LIW that you are adding now?

Forgot to answer my question.
I was dead set against floral centerpieces. Didn't feel like that was a necessary expense for me so I was all set on diying some candle centerpieces. Then I found my venue and they include gorgeous floral centerpieces so now I'm having them.

Its not that I didn't know they existed but I've never been to a wedding with ceremony programs so I didn't know so many people had them until I joined this site.

Honestly there isn't anything I said I wasn't going to do that I now am doing that I can think of. I was thinking of possibly not doing video but once I really thought about it I changed my mind.

As for not knowing something existed until LIWeddings I cant really think of anything.

I said I didn't want a videographer until I found a very affordable one and I figured 'why not?'

I had no idea what a DOC was and I have one now LOL

I said I wasn't going to get a videographer because i didn't want a camera guy in the face the whole wedding, but when I saw a sample vid from my photographer I caved! Now the videography is one of the things I'm most excited for!

At first we were not going to do video. My FH came across AJ, fell in love, and insisted we book him.
And the only thing that I didn't know existed before liweddings was personalized air freshners for guests cars.

RoandJoe if you have AJ you can never go wrong lol. I love his work so much unfortunately out of our price range :(

I was so set on having a 1 wedding only venue and getting married outdoors. Yeah I am getting married at Jericho Terrace multi event venue, and no outdoor ceremony. We loved the place, bm, the price, and the food was amazing the best out of all the food we tried.

I had no clue what a gobo was I was like what the hell is a gobo. It was listed on so many things. Thank god for my doc I have asked a lot of questions like that. I also had no clue that you pick a song to cut your cake to. I just always thought the dj or band played whatever fit the mood at the time lol. Live and learn.

I did not want a Viennese hour but I’m having one since my dad is dead set on having one! Since he is paying for the wedding I had to go along with it!

I didn’t know what hand canceling your invites meant until LIW!

Hmm. There wasn't anything that FH & I said that we weren't going to do that we are now end up doing. We went into planning pretty open.

Without LIWeddings I wouldn't have known what a DOC was and I probably would have forgotten some odds and ends things!

I didn't want to choose a venue that was an hour away from my house, but (as you all know by now) I pretty much saw every venue on Long Island and fell in love with Giorgio's.

I didnt know what a DOC was either, and never heard of OOT bags. Not sure if I'm going to do them, but it's in the back of my head yet.

I definitely didn't plan on getting married in January. I always wanted a fall wedding at a vineyard, but I realized how expensive that would have been and totally nixed that idea. Plus FH and I wanted to get married sooner rather than later, so it all worked out.

Ugh, love AJ's work and he was out of our budget, but I just had to have him for our wedding!

I always wanted a fall or spring wedding, but the prices for those times of the year were a little out of budget for what we wanted, plus our date has significance for our own reasons.

I learned a lot from liwedding so much that I can't think of just one thing to mention!

Re: *QOTD 3/21/13*

I didn't want a video. I honestly though it was a waste of money. FH and his family have totally shown me the light. Although we haven't booked one yet. We're going to be having one :)

I honestly haven't learned anything new from LIW, BUT a friend of mine got married in 2011 and she was on LIW. I learned a lot about weddings from her - like cry packets, zip photo, and so much more. So I guess LIW helped her, so therefore they helped me :)

I had NO intention of having any part of Suffolk County for my wedding (or life, for that matter). Fast-forward to last summer when I moved out to Bohemia and booked my church and reception hall in Port Jefferson! In fact, we only looked at one or two venues in Nassau County.

I knew nothing about boudoir pics, groom cakes or trash the dress. I'm not doing any of these things, though.

And I found Jay Lim from these boards...and for that I will be forever grateful!!

Yes! I heard about boudoir pictures on here and if I can get over my insecurities I may just do them!

Is there anything that at first you said that you were not doing for you wedding that you added?

I didn't plan on having over 200+ people, but now our guest list is at 350. I also didn't think we were going to have a viennese hour but we added that too! :)

Are there things that you didn't know existed until you joined LIW that you are adding now?

I heard about trash the dress, but I'd never do it! I love my dress too much! I literally want to wear it every day.
