After searching for MOB dresses yesterday with my mother.. I realized this is going to be harder than I thought..

My question has 2 parts..

1. What color is your mother and FMIL wearing?
2. How hard has it been to shop with your mother..?

My mother wants to wear black.. I said fine it really doesn't matter to me what color she wears, and my FMIL refuses to tell me what color she is wearing, every time I bring the subject up she tells me she will tell me when she feels like telling me.. nice huh?

Shopping with my mother has been extremely hard..She has a list a mile long of what she doesn't want to wear and yesterday she actually yelled at a salesperson in a bridal shop because the price was too high on a dress..

1. My mother is wearing Bronze/copper-ish. FMIL is wearing blue. I don't mind the colors, I knew its been tough for both of them. I'm the 3rd for my mom and 4th for FMIL... It's all been done before so they each went totally different!

2. My mother has been stressed bc she wanted something unusual plus she's picky! However we got extremely lucky with one shop and their incredible seamstress. This women made my mom feel and look great so I'm happy, one less thing to worry about!

My mother is wearing gold and FMIL doesn't have a dress yet....

Shopping with my mom was not that hard. She knew what she wanted so we basically went to a Ton of stores just to rule out all other types of styles. She isn't wearing your typical mother of the bride dress. She has a great figure so she wanted to flatter it with something more fitted

Do you mind telling me what shop you went to? My mother needs sleeves on a dress and is very short waisted so a jacket is out of the question.. I feel like any dress we find we are going to have to add sleeves to it..

Go to Totally You in Bellmore. My mom is short and not into jackets. We found several dresses with short and 3/4 sleeves.

We haven't gone yet but my mom wants either a metallic, burgundy or dark green. I don't think she'll be difficult at all and is my favorite person to shop with so I'm not worried.

My FMIL is wearing something she already has. I haven't seen it and have no idea what it looks like or where it came from.

1. My mom is wearing navy and FMIL is wearing a teal colored gown.
2. Shopping with my mom wasn't the bad part. It was all the pictures of dresses she emailed me and called me about. She talked about dresses more than I talked about my dress!

* My mother is wearing a teal color A-line dress. My mother has slightly different taste than I do...she is pretty simple....as the mother of the Bride I wanted my mother to stand out.....she finally decided on a dress with some shinny details she would normally not wear.

*My FMIL is wearing navy blue....I just went shopping with her a week ago. She just needs to put a deposit down (hopefully soon because the dress takes 3 months to come in)

Overall though....not too painful shopping with either person.

My mom is wearing navy. My FMIL is wearing a teal color (more blue).

My mother was hesitant to pick a dress, we had it narrowed down to two and we went with the navy. At first I didn't want black or navy, but it has bling so it breaks it up.
FMIL is keeping her dress a secret. She told me it's green. I know the store she got it from so I know it will be appropriate for the wedding.

I also found it necessary for the mom's to wear colors that match the bridal party since they have daughters and granddaughters in the wedding and will be taking photos with them.

I am not sure what my mom is going to wear yet. We are going shopping in April. She said she is open to anything but a jacket, haha! She says she doesnt want to look old!

FMIL is wearing Navy. She ordered her dress from a magazine so I am hoping it looks nice on her. She just couldn't wait to go shopping with us

Ugh! My mom is incredibly self conscious. She literally had a panic attack in a shop a couple of weekends ago. It's prom season and she brought us to a gown shop, not a bridal shop, so she was surrounded by size 0 girls with disgusting attitudes. She's done internet searches and has one particular dress in mind and of course we can't find it anywhere for her to try on. She wants to order it at the same place I got my dress and BM dresses but I don't want her to order a $500 dress without ever trying it on. In online pictures it looks like it's available in a grey/silver (perfect with my colors) but it's actually more of a blue/lavender color. It's available in black too. At first I was iffy about her wearing black but if she feels comfortable (she's not a dress person) then I say whatever. She ordered hot pink shoes (my colors are pink and grey) to wear with her dress.

My mom's wearing irredescent. It's like a blue-green-grey color. SO PRETTY!

My mom is wearing Navy and FMIL is wearing a red-orange color (she says coral but it's called 'risque'...whatever!).

My mom was pretty easy to shop with. She did a little searching and trying on on her own. She knew what she wanted so it was just a matter of a few different shops before she found what she wanted.

WELL. I am getting married of flag day and my one request was the no one wear red because my bridesmaid are in blue and I'm obviously in white (-ish). And what color does my FMIL pick? Burgundy. My mother is in a purple color. Shopping with my mom has been amazing!! My mom will always give her opinion, but at the end of the day, she always says 'it's your wedding'. It's the best.
