Who is paying for Your Wedding?!
In My case, My FH and I are paying for it... We saving every penny we can... I am not sure if our parents will help us... But In our minds, we have that WE will be the Only ones paying for it...

I'm doing it the same way. My FH and I are the ones footing the bill. Unfortunately, my parents are not in the country and wont be joining us for the wedding... so I'm trying to make the event as memorable as possible w/o killing my budget so that I have nice pictures to send back to them.

FH and I are paying for our wedding. We wanted a smaller wedding but our parents can't not invite their friends so both sets of parents have offered to pay for their guests. but we've offered to pay for their guests that we would've invited anyways. We're just not paying for the ones that we wouldn't have invited in the first place.
Both sides of our family have offered to help but FH insists on paying for it ourselves b/c they don't want them having ANY say on the wedding plus he wants to know that we can pay for this ourselves. i told to him to cut the crap and let them help us but it's not working

wow, if they are offering to pay, i'd jump on that opportunity!
making these wedding decisions would be so much easier if i wasn't constantly thinking about the final costs!

The only thing that we are not paying for is my dress and accessories because my mother told me that she wants to pay for it.

my parents are in asia and will not be able to travel back to the states to attend the wedding....
therefore, i'm trying my best to have a great wedding at a low cost...

oh, i'm sorry that your parents aren't here - where are they? any chance at all that they can make it to the wedding?
My FH & I are paying for the wedding. both sets of parents are not financially able to help us pay for anything. they do what they can and we're ok with it.
to the OP, i agree with your FH, pay for the wedding yourselves. sometimes, when other people pay for things, even something simple as guests, they think like they canmake opinions about anything else in your wedding. (this so happened to me the first time i was engaged)

what FH keeps on drilling in my head is that our parents have their own expenses to worry about and we shouldn't burden them with anymore debt. IF we can afford this wedding, we'll do it all on our own. If we need help, MAYBE we'll consider. I guess I've been a bit selfish and never really thought of that

My parents are donating 5,000 to our hall, and thats the only help we're getting. So far we've been good with paying all down payments and nothing else is due until the month before the wedding..so now we play the saving game.

We are paying for most of it ourselves. my parents are giving us a little and are paying for our favors. no word on his parents yet.
