Anyways, for the QOTD:
Was there something from your first date, or your first few dates, that really stood out in your mind? Whether it was something romantic that he did, something goofy, something obnoxious or maybe even something that you did? Have you guys spoke about it since?
FH and I went to a dinner and a movie for our first date. We went to watch Saw and before the movie began, he goes 'Hey, if at any point you ever get scared during the movie, you can always grab my arms or hands or cr*tch I couldn't believe he said that! He was my coworker and that was just really awkward - but yea, I didn't respond to that. I was thinkin in my head - wow, you have balls
I brought it up to him months later and he said that it was really awkward but it was meant to be a joke - some reason, I don't think he was joking
oh how I love FH

Something that stands out to me was when we first met. We were on a study abroad trip in Italy with about 65 poeple. The first night we all went to dinner with the professors and everyone. After a few glasses of wine I went up to him and was like are you the professor's husband (for some reason, he looked so much older than everyone else). After he said no, I was like well why are yuo here, how old are you - I was really obnoxious!
He didn't talk to me for a few days (pretty bad way to start off!) Eventually he got over it and by the end of the trip I think we made out on every bridge in Venice!!

I think something that stuck out in my mind the most was really just how comfortable we were talking to one another. Don't want to say too much, but he even confided in me about something his mother was going through at the time that he had not even told any of his friends yet (my cousin is one of his very good friends and he told me not to even tell him about it because he didn't want the guys to know). That just sort of made me feel really good about the future 'us'.

Something from our first date def stands out - all the times I had met him previously he always wore a hat.
FH used to (i guess) be really self conscious about his hair since he lost a lot of it from being sick. On our first date he didn't wear a hat and any time after that he rarely wore one. Kinda made me feel good knowing that he was comfortable with himself around me to not wear a hat and show all of his handsome face

I think the thing that sticks out the most about FH and I's first date is HOW he asked me. We work together too and one day he just came up to my cubicle and goes -
'I'm taking you to sushi tommorow.' 'huh? Are you asking me or telling me?' 'I'm just letting you know. See you tommorow!'
Me = W T F just happened? A part of me thought 'what a cocky little s.o.b!' but another part was kinda turned on by the order LOL.
So after we had our first lunch date we get back to the office and he goes:
'Alright, I'm gonna take you out one more time to this nice restaurant and then after that you have to take me out.'
ummm sure? I thought it was kinda cute he was already lining me up for two more dates even though it was more of an order than a question!
He also would tell me that I was going to be his wife all the time.
I guess I listened to those orders after all

the first night we meet his best friend went off with my friend togo hock up in his car. We were at a sorority party at a bar in Astoria. Him and I hung out by ourselves the whole time and took a walk around Astoria at like midnight. He always makes fun of me that i took a walk with a perfect stranger around Astoria by ourselves , he could of been a rapist or something. I was just so comfortable with him from the moment that we meet i totally trusted him right away.

i don't think ther was any funny thing or cool tale to tell about our first dates. we both had a great sense of humor and the conversation was just flowing steadily and we had a great time together.
one thing though that always tood out, he would always pick me up and never let me drive, i live in queens and he lives in brooklyn, he would pay for everything and always hold the doors, walk on the curb side of the street - stuff like that...
he has amazing manners and he still does all of this for me - even small stuff like opening my car door. <3

so FH and I met in school... through a mutual friend. the thing that stood out... was how he went about getting my attention. all of us were playing poker... well, my friends were and i was just being a cheerleader.... and every time my FH won or loss, he'd tip me... and i thought this was super strange...but def different enough to make me intrigued and curious ... and now, even to this day... when people ask how he met and why we're together, i just say... 'cause he paid me to be his gf!' lol...

We went to a Japanese restaurant on our first date. He brought me flowers which was so cliche, but IMO, a nice touch!

First date he brought flowers that were SO big it took 3 vases to fit them all!
The quirky part though - he drove up and about 1/2 way up realized that he had a hatchet, shovel, rope, and a tarp in the back of his truck. I didn't learn about that until later, but he apparently went into panic mode over that one. End to the story is that we both love camping and that's why it was there, but he realized how bad it could have looked.

FH and I went to lunch and a movie, the Polar Express. I really like him, thought he was cute, we'd been talking for weeks before... so I made my hand available in the movie. He didn't take it. Then I asked him to come up to my dorm to watch TV (it was during the day, my roomies were around, no funny business!) and he said NO! So I thought he HATED me.
Turns out he was nervous, so he didn't hold my hand and he said he was trying to be a gentleman by not coming up because if it was his sister he'd kick the **** out of some guy that went up to her dorm room ont he first date, lol.

But, something that sticks out from one of our early dates was.... we went to a 'nice' restaurant (well, something that was nicer than our regular high school dates, nothing really fancy). FH asked our elderly waiter 'do you have free refills here?' The waiter looked at him disgusted with a look on his face thinking 'no, you cheap azz' haha we still laugh about that one - who asks that?!?!? Luckily FH loosened his purse strings a bit and splurged for that extra soda

We met for the first time at a NYE party. Well, at the party my friends bf practically broke my foot with a chair and I was a crying mess (I'm sure this had NOTHING to do w alchohol). As me and my friends were waiting for our ride Fh came over to ask if I was ok. I was sitting on the grass and I turned to him and said 'stop looking up my dress'. Ps. He was NOT looking up my dress. And generally concerned but I apparently felt differently lol. He just laughed at me and asked my friend if I was ok and walked away.

welllll our 'first date' never happened...
because I stood him up!
flat out stood him up...
i lived in NYC and he lived in LI
he made plans to come to NYC and take me out for sushi
well 5 pm rolled around...phone rings i dont answer... 6 pm rolls around, phone is still ringing and I dont answer
He leaves me a VM, saying not to worry, he is still having a good time out without me, thankfully he has friends in NYC
soooo ummmm yeah....i never answered and never showed!
needless to say we reconnected a few days later...and he forgave me
I was too scared to go, I thought it was weird that this guy was coming all the way from LI to come take me out and I felt too pressured!
I made up some lie, that my gfs car got towed overnight and we were up till 10 am trying to get it back and i just slept thru all his calls....I guess he believed me! He obviously knows the truth now!
