Sorry this is so late ladies!! I worked all day, and this was the first chance I had to get on a computer. Speaking of work...

How are you dealing with people (co-workers, acquaintances, etc) who you aren't planning to invite to your wedding?

I work in a restaurant, so by the nature of the business, I work with some people who I am friends with at work, but wouldn't be friends with otherwise, and therefore I'm not planning to invite. (I'm hoping to have a full time job by the time I get married.)

I answer any questions that people ask, but never questions about who's invited, and I just usually move the conversation to something else if they say 'oh I'll...at your wedding'. I don't see anyone getting too insulted, but it's hard to not invite everyone in this type of situation, especially because 3 of my very close friends also work with me, and will definitely be invited.

When talking with anyone outside of my people who are guaranteed to be there (family, bridal party), I always say that our wedding isn't going to be very big and I have a large family (both true!). I think it sets up some people to not expect an invitation. Or at least I hope it does!

Honestly, I haven't encountered this yet!

I was working with a lot of people that I wanted to invite and I was thinking of putting them all at one table and not giving them + 1s to save. but now I'm not working so I don't feel as pressured to answer to old coworkers.

My FH has a HUGE family and I had a big family but over the years people have passed away so my guest list was very small until I knew I was going to invite coworkers. I've been at my job for 13 years and am pretty good friends with a lot of people. There are some that are new and then some that I can deal with but then I can't deal with. I'm kinda stuck on inviting them or not. I feel bad if I don't invite them. Then I'm like well they might think I'm inviting them just because. Right now I'm toying with the idea of inviting them and maybe they will say no. I guess it's easier to invite and just cross fingers. I do already have them on the guest list but I guess more as a maybe.

I don't think people that aren't being invited are actually expecting to be invited...
I work in a hair salon and although we all get along we have over 20 employees and its just easy to see that not everyone can be invited-I also took a cue from my friend who got married two years ago who only invited one person from work who she was friends with before work...
But on the other hand I'm a BM in a work friends bridal party, and even though we hang out outside of work I couldn't reciprocate because I wanted a small party and have three very close friends that I've known for over ten years, and I've had to deal with her comments about me not asking her. I basically just say what I just explained about my old/close friends and size of the party and move on.. And I've also had pressure from my MOM to invite my boss and my 3 managers and I said no, no one else invited them to their weddings why would I? It's just weird...
I've actually had a couple CLIENTS say very seriously over and over again that they better be invited... And I just laugh and smile. Like... What? Why would you be invited?

Sorry this was long! Just so many different angles to answer this question! Haha

I get asked constantly at work. Even from co-workers I barely speak to at work. I say that we are tight on money and FH has a big family which is all true. I'm only inviting a few coworkers I've hung out with outside of work.

I really haven't dealt with this. It seems like anyone I know is invited to the wedding. My office consists of about 10 people and we're all REALLY close. At this point I wish there actually were people I wasn't inviting!!

I haven't dealt with this at all. Everyone who is invited knows it. And no one that I don't plan on inviting expects it.

Good question! I'm a nanny so I don't really have to worry about this too much. I'm definitely inviting the parents I work for!

Luckily, I just started my job in May so I don't know anyone well enough to invite them to my wedding lol

My FH is only inviting those he sees outside of work and his bosses.

I've gotten this from a few coworkers. I guess I'm lucky because I recently gotten transferred in my company, so I'm not really in contact with my old office. But when I was getting asked, I would tell them that we have to discuss the guest list. So I kinda just didn't answer them lol.

I haven't had to deal with this.....yet.

There may be some friends that FH and I went to college with who will expect an invite, but at this point we barely talk and I pretty much consider them to just be 'Facebook friends' lol I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens.

I'm a nanny and we're having no kids at the wedding so i'm good!! LOL

FH on the other hand thinks that ANYONE who says congratulations to him at work he needs to invite!

I feel like if I invite anyone from work I have to invite all! I am having a hard time predicting my list. I am going to wait until it gets closer and see what to do.

THIS!

But.. as far as work.. I work for 5 surgeons and I work with about 11 other women.

IF I'm still at my office when it comes time to do my invites... I plan on inviting the doctors with their wives... and then my coworkers ... but my coworkers DO NOT get a plus one. I can't forsee any instance in which I'll know any of my coworkers husbands... so I'm not giving them an 'and guest'

I honestly haven't spoken to anyone about the wedding that I don't plan on inviting. All of my coworkers & boss are like my family, so they will be invited.
