~~~*QOTD 4/22/13*~~~
Hi everyone! I am so excited to be BOTW this week!So, here's my first question:
Is there anything you had/have to compromise in your wedding planning for your FH?
I am not a huge sports fan but FH is the complete opposite! He watches every sport there is and is totally loyal to all of his teams. He really wants to incorporate sports into our wedding. The way I am planning to do this is by naming each of our tables after his favorite players, whether they be Yankees, Giants, Rangers or Knicks. I am also getting him a groomscake in the shape of a NY Giants helmet. Originally, I wanted our table numbers to be cards that everyone at the table can sign with advice and every year, on that table number, we can read the advice for that year. For example, on table #5, we'd read the advice on our fifth wedding anniversary.
Also, our wedding song is a compromise. He loves hair metal and really wanted our wedding song to be a rock ballad. I like country and R&B, so I would have preferred a song from that genre. The only song he likes that I could agree on was 'You're the Inspiration' by Chicago. It's a nice song but definitely not my first choice.
I think tuxedos look better with bow ties. Fh hates bow ties though so regular ties it is. That's pretty much the only thing I'm not getting my way with. Everything else he just lets me do my thing.
Lucky you! lol Fortunately, FH & I agree on a lot but if we didn't, we'd have A LOT of issues lol. He can be a bit of a groomzilla!
He knows how long I've been thinking about my wedding. Plus he'd rather let me do everything then have to really startnking decisions lol.
hey! Those players have numbers! Why not incorporate that into the table numbers. say Jeter is number 2 and table two, advice for your 2nd year!?As for compromises...nothing huge so far...we've surprisingly been able to agree on most things (albeit we haven't dug too far into planning yet!)
My FH has surprised me by wanting to be way more traditional and formal then even I planned! We have taken turns choosing things, and over all its gone really smooth (knock on wood lol). I just never thought my compromises would be to 'let' him to wear a full tux ...hey we are doing a casual wedding but FH wants to dress fancy so hey I'll allow it.
lol silly boys.
The one compromise is that we're not getting a photobooth. FH is not into them, and I sort of wanted one. But in the end, I saw his point and we decided to pass - but I talked him into getting a caricutare artist instead! I'm very sneaky. lol
We haven't had to compromise a lot yet but I know one of us is going to have to compromise when it's time to choose our song. He's into rock and metal but I'm not so I don't know what we'll end up with!
We haven't had to compromise on much lately...the only thing we usually disagree on is how much we should pay for something. Typically I have a MUCH higher number in mind than he does!
We haven't really compromised on anything. FH pretty much lets me do what I want. As I've mentioned before he isn't really into the planning. Any thing he has asked for though I let him (so far he hasn't asked for anything crazy stupid
) have because he hardly asks for anything. For example he wanted the roast pig at cocktail hour & he wants to go to vegas on the way home from honeymoon. I really wanted to go to San Francisco or Disneyland but Vegas it is!
Ugh! I've had to compromise on his darn cousins. I know some don't agree with my viewpoint on this but I just don't see a place for children at weddings. The idea of paying for some 14 year old I've never met, and that he hasn't seen in half a decade, to eat a filet mignon makes me crazy. I would much rather this be a 21+ affair.
I disagree with the children at weddings part but if you've never met them and he hasn't seen them in forever then you're totally right in not wanting them there.
We haven't compromised on anything. We are both traditionalists so our view for our ceremony were the same and our reception is in January which we both wanted a winter wedding so we are both very happy!
Nothing yet but I am sure we will. I know for music we have a little bit of difference so I am sure there will end up being a compromise there.
We had to compromise on the video situation. He was really against it so we decided to use the money my father was going to give us for it to do a nicer photo album through out photographer. I'm kinda bummed but ... Since he doesn't ask for a lot... I'm all for it.The other thing is the rehearsal dinner being at applebees. The boy loves their wings and iced tea and he's giving me the wedding of my dreams so we can do bees for the RD. lol
