Again, I am doing a middle of the night QOTD because of my crazy work schedule! lol

I was listening to Cosmo Radio's Wake up With Taylor today and they were discussing this topic, and I'd like your opinions~!:

Some men don't wear their wedding bands often, if at all, after they get married. Many men blame it on hating to wear rings and others say it's because they don't think it's necessary. Are you ok with FH not wearing his wedding band once you're married?

I grew up in a family where most of the married couples stay together and are seemingly very happy. None of the men, including my father or grandfather, wear/wore wedding bands. It's the weirdest thing when I think about it, lol, but it's true. My dad didn't wear his mainly because he was a chef/pizza man and works a lot with his hands.

If FH decides he doesn't want to wear the band to work, I think I'd be 100% okay with it. He is a cableguy and works a lot in and around houses with wires and stuff. He has mentioned to me getting a chain for it and wearing it around his neck at work but I don't like that idea because I am afraid it can get lost if he is in a crawlspace or something.
If he chooses not to wear it on a regular basis, like when he's off from work and we're just running errands and going out with friends, I think it may bother me a little bc it would be nice to see him wear it. I'd probably mention it to him and ask why but I don't think it would upset me to the point that I would argue about it or feel too bad about it.
If FH decided not to wear his band at a wedding or holiday or some sort of formal social function, I think I would be really upset. I am not sure why I feel different about this environment than the others, I guess it's because I would want to at least see him wear it on special occasions or something.

I have witnessed this with my stepfather. He worked for the NY Post and when you tie bundles of newspaper there is this specific knife ring they use and it is really unsafe to have a wedding ring on for snagging, etc. I personally don't like when men don't wear their rings. I can understand some jobs it's not safe but personally I think it should be on and never off. FH will wear his ring all the time because he wants to & that makes me very happy!!

Not acceptable to me and I've told Fh that already.

Edited to add- Fh is a sanitation worker but he wears gloves when we works so he has no reason to take his ring off ever.

This has become a debate between me and my FH. He says he absolutely will not be wearing his ring at work (he works in law enforcement) and will not budge about it. It's something about him not wanting criminals to know he's married or something like that. It irritates me to no end, but I trust him completely (otherwise we wouldn't be getting married) so I just have to trust his judgement on this one. He'll be wearing it all other times though. My dad never wore his (for the same reason as FH actually, I didn't realize that until now) and that always bothered me!

FH and I discussed this and he wants a wedding band tattooed on. He works with his hands a lot doing computer repair and everything so I understand where he's coming from. This also may be the thing where I know if he has a tungsten ring and something happens to his hand they will have to cut off his FINGER because you can't cut tungsten so I understand lol.

I told him he needs an actual band for the ceremony and he'll wear that band when we go out places and when he's not working with wiring and stuff.

That's a good question haven't discuss this with FH but I do want him to wear his band.

FH is an electrician so he won't be able to wear his ring to work. I have heard of some type of ring that looks like metal but is not a conductor of electricity so we are going to look into that for him to wear to work and then one to wear when he is not working. I'm ok with him not wearing a ring to work basically because he can't. If he worked in an office and didn't wear it then I would be upset.

I've genuinely never seen my father once wear his wedding ring. He owns an auto body shop, and he said he literally wore it 3 times after the wedding and at this point his fingers are so mangled and enormous that the ring doesn't even fit.

My FIL said the same thing, he's a machine operator and he said he's seen so many men lose their fingers to machines, he would never ever wear it to work. He said he wore it for his wedding day, and it's been sitting in his safe ever since.

FH is also in construction, so I know he'll never wear it to work, and I requested that he doesn't. He wanted me to get him a cheaper ring so that he could wear it to work and not worry about ruining it, but I said absolutely not. I know he's just as excited to get his ring as I am, so he'll definitely wear it after work or on weekends. He loves his ring!

Not 100% sure how I feel about it, but FH wants to wear his ring and he is quite excited about it, so that makes me extremely happy! He's a teacher so there is no reason to take it off and I doubt he will. I cant wait :)

FH will probably wear his ring all the time, but I might not. GASP!!!

It's true! I wear a lot of costume jewelry and sometimes that doesn't go with my E-ring. But if FH didn't want to wear it all the time, I don't mind. It's not like he'll be going out 'clubbin' and picking up young chicks lol.

FH has a desk job so I would want him to wear his ring to work but I don't expect him to wear it around the house since I never wear my engagement ring in the house.

My dad actually doesn't wear his ring for two reasons: 1) he works with his hands and it would be dangerous to wear it and 2) it doesn't fit anymore!

That being said, I definitely want FH to wear his wedding ring! He works in an office all day, so there is no reason NOT to wear it. Plus I imagine I will love the way it looks on him!

I actually wondered this recently! I think I'd probably be upset if FH didn't wear his ring. He's a teacher, so no endangerment there! Plus I'm kind of excited by the thought of him wearing it. Like, 'Yeah... he's been claimed.' LOL

Well my father never wore his ring. In fact he lost it snorkling on their honeymoon. I cant even imagine how bad my mother wanted to kill him~! The few occasions my dad has worn his (replacement) ring I find to be strange because I am so not used to it!

As for FH, he is a lineman so he can't wear his to work but I would expect that when he isn't at work he will be wearing it. He jokes about not wearing it because he doesnt really wear any jewelry but he does it just to annoy me haha

I grew up in a similar situation where none of the men wore their wedding rings and they are all still married. FH wants to wear his ring but he works on large copy machines all day so I know it might take a lot of abuse so I am completely okay with him not wearing it.

I'm a nurse and I wear my ring...he's a teacher so he should wear his ring 100% of the time lol I don't think he'd take it off anyway

I'm told all the time that I'm crazy for wearing my engagement ring at work, but I love it too much not to. It can be dangerous though and most married man in law enforcement don't for different reasons. I think FH might at first because of the excitement at the beginning, but I think he may stop after a while. I don't think I would mind because I totally understand why 'they' don't.
