QOTD 4/1/08

Happy Tuesday and Happy April Fools Day Ladies!!!!

So as I sit here on my lunch break attempting to get some schoolwork done, I thought of todays question(s)....

When you were growing up, what was your dream job?

As you got older, did that dream job change? If so, to what?

Are you working at your dream job? If no, why not?

Have a great day ladies!!!!!

This is a good question.

When I was a kid I always wanted to be a veterinarian, I dunno why. I'm kind of afraid of bigger animals LOL -- then it changed to being a teacher.....

I'm in the process of looking for a job as a teacher so I'm hoping to fulfill my dream very soon

Yay a QOTD that I can answer!
And a really good question too!

When you were growing up, what was your dream job?
I wanted to be a pediatrician for as long as I can remember!

As you got older, did that dream job change? If so, to what?
Yes, I realized that I don't think I would make a good physician since I would get very emotional if patients died. But I still loved science so I decided to do research instead. And I teach college classes too which I also love to do.

Are you working at your dream job? If no, why not?
I'm not at my dream job yet because I need to finish and get my Ph.D. to become a full time professor. But I'm definitely on my way!

Great question! My first dream job was being a teacher. My dream job changed quite a few times as I got older lol. And the last time it was working in the music industry as a recording producer. I went to school for it and interned at a recording studio but realized that it wasn't for me.

I wanted to be an animator for Disney.

That changed when I went to art school and saw how hard it was to get into that job and how competitive it was.( I guess I didn't want it bad enough. I am just not a competitive person by nature.)

I stuck with the creative thing and work as a Graphic Designer now. I wouldn't say it is my dream job but I LOVE what I do and am able to still be creative everyday. So I guess I am lucky that I get to make a living doing something I love.

My dream job was to be a Ballerina. (it says so in my 8th grade grad page too)

My dream job changed a little in that I didn't want to just do ballet. I started to like lyrical, and more jazzy styles.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am a dance instructor and I LOVE LOVE LOVE MY JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I always wanted to be a lawyer. Everyone in my family always called me 'THE LAWYER' even when I was young bcuz i could argue my way out of ANYTHING! lol

After doing a year of law school i realized, i couldn't take it anymore! I felt like i had started school ALL OVER AGAIN!

I have to admit i am at my dream job. I still work in the legal field, at an AMAZING place and with the greatest bosses EVER!

When I was a kid I always wanted to be a veterinarian,. I love animals and just wanted to be around them. But as I grew up I realized I am not good with blood and don't have the heart to put an animal to sleep. As a kid my second favorite thing other then animals was drawing. I loved art. So as I got older, I started to take art classes and realized that art doesn't just have to be a hobby, but it could be my career. I love my job.

Great question...

When I was a little girl, I always wanted to become a cop/detective, that was my dream job.

Then I went to college at The Fashion Institute of Technology...I worked in fashion for awhile, then went back to school to get my masters in education, but found out that bored me. I'm working in TV now and I LOVE IT! this is my dream job...

When I was growing up my dream job changed a lot, but I think I wanted to be a teacher the majority of the time. It changed when I got to high school and I decided that I wanted to be a psychotherapist. I'm sort of working my dream job...I run an internship program. I meet with my students once a week and basically teach a class based around whatever I feel like that week. Assignments and grading is involved, but I try to make it fun and not too academic. So I'm kind of their teacher, but not really. I got this job purely to pay for school so I can study to become a therapist. Give it another 5-7 years, then I'll be living the dream!

writer to lawyer to english teacher

i don't think i could do something that i didn't love 40 hours week for the rest of my life without going insane, so yeah, teaching is my dream job. if only the workload were more manageable!

1. Growing up, my dream job
Two very different thinks. Model or Lawyer.

2. As I got older, did that dream job change
I guess not completely. I became a corporate laywer. I gave up on the model dreams.

3. Are you working at your dream job?
Humm - probably not. Don't get me wrong -- I LOVE what I do (in terms of substance) and the freedom it gives me but 60 hour plus weeks are very hard. I will definete get the dream job opne day -for now I seem to be paying dues and wedding bills.

Re: QOTD 4/1/08

When I was little, I wanted to be a teacher so I could have summers off. During high school I wanted to be a guidance counselor. I got accepted into college as a psych major but switched to elementary ed after my acceptance. Did a semester of that and went back to the guidance counseling thing.... Senior year, switched, yet again, to wanting to be a preschool teacher. Graduated and did that for a couple of years... had a bad experience (but loved the kids) and then decided I would become a paralegal which I just started doing a few months ago... whew!

But, I do have to say, my dream job, if I had any ounce of talent or skill, would be a wedding gown designer. I wedding dresses!!!! I have no fashion sense at all but if I could, that's what I would do.

When I was younger I always wanted to be an actress.

As I got older my dreams changed to become a doctor.

Yes that all changed!!!
Acting was too competitive (said my 'rents)
Medicine was too difficult (after Stony Brook)

Now I am a teacher - and not loving it as much as I thought I would!

Is there still hope for me?

I originally wanted to be a vet when I was younger. Then I decided I didn't want to deal with the sad stuff so I wanted to be a dolphin trainer/researcher. Then in college I went from animals to criminals and decided to get into forensic psychology. I'm still working on my doctorate

When I was really young I wanted to be a children's author. Then I started to want to teach and that's what I do now and I'm very happy!
