~*~*~*~QOTD - 4/11/09~*~*~*~

Yikes!!! I almost went to bed without posting, that was a close one!

Since its been a big part of the thought process of planning my wedding, I decided to ask a little about religion today. Are you and FH the same religion? Will you be having a religious ceremony? If you're not the same religion will you have an interfaith wedding or a secular wedding? Are you getting married by a Priest or Rabbi or JD or some combination of the above?

FH is Christian (raised Presbyterian but is unaffiliated atm) and I am Jewish. We are both religious people so we'll be having some sort of interfaith ceremony, although since its so early on we're not sure exactly what it will entail. I'd still liked to get married by a Rabbi but I guess we may get married by both?? Hehe we're not really sure...just definitely not by a JD...we're both religious and we want G-d at our wedding.

i am a practicing catholic and Fh is jew ish-non practicing...we will be hopefully having a non denominational ceremony...at a church. this way it will blessed in the house of god and make my family happy but it will also make the in laws happy bc its non den...bec after years of raising Fh with NO tradition or values of their religion they want to pull the religious card. we have decided to raise the children catholic and teach them about judaism.

We are both catholic. Although we dont go to church much I felt very strongly that I had to be married in a church, he wanted to get married at the hall...But we are getting married in my hometown church so I couldnt be happier.

i am catholic and John started out catholic but now he doesnt really follow any kind of religion.
i wanted to be married in a church but John didnt make his confirmation and he would have to complete that in order to get married in a church. he also is uncomfortable in churches so i settled on getting married at the hall.

i would like to raise our children catholic though

We are both non-practicing catholics, we are not getting married in a church, it was never even a thought for either of us. FH is very anti-church and I never recieved communion or confirmation.

FH is protestant (but his dad is Jewish) and I am catholic. We decided to have the ceremony in a Catholic Church, but not to do the nuptial mass (ceremony only) as it might be awkward for his family.

We are both Christians who don't currently attend church. We will most likely be having a non religous ceremony...

We are both practicing Catholics there was no question where we were getting married. Plus it was always my dream to get married at a church. We are having a full mass service.

Im Jewish (raised Jewish and bat mitvahed but not religious at all)...FH is catholic but hasnt gone to church since he was little and he was never confirmed either. We didnt want to get married at the RH, we are having an interfaith ceremony incorporating both religions at a Unitarian Congregation performed by a an interfaith minister.

We both are Catholic..I am a lapsed Catholic though..it's odd because my grandpa is a deacon and our house is super religious but I really am not anymore..a little bit of me is sad about that but most of me knows that it's ok to doubt and want to explore. We will be getting married at a church..he doesn't go yet wants the whole raise our kids Catholic thing..we have much to talk about and I rather raise our kids Catholic the way he wants then not raise children with him at all. I cried when we had this talk because it is so important to me that our children and us have a faith.
