**QOTD 4/15**

Good morning ladies!!! It's still so cold here on LI!!! I wish it was warm already! So today's question is: Have you and FH ever talked about moving somewhere else? Do you plan on moving anywhere? Are you planning on settling down here and making your lives here?

We have talked about moving or living elsewhere, but never seriously. I really can't stand cold weather (unless I'm on a mountain snowboarding lol), and always joke that I would love to move somewhere warm. But I am the breadwinner, and my job is here, so we never really seriously pursue anything. Also we are both really family oriented, so we would never really move away from our families I think.

How about you?

FH currently lives in VA (He's from LI and moved a month after we met). I will be relocating there by the time we're married, if not sooner.

As expensive as long island is, I can not imagine living any where else. We too are very family oriented. We moved to Queens, I think it is too far from our family in suffolk! As beautiful and cheap as some other states are, I think we are just true New Yorkers/Long Islanders for life!

Most likely we will buy a home in NJ. We having been looking in and around the South Jersey area.

Who knows where life will take us. As long as I have FH, a walk in closet, a granite kitchen island and his & her sinks I will be a happy lady

We have touched on the subject before, but FH wants to say in NY as thats where most of his family is.

My parents are in FL; my brother, SIL and 3 nieces/nephews are in CT.

For our sanity, we may have to move away because his mother is too much to deal with (she hates me practically) and FBIL and FSIL aren't the greatest either.

I would move in a heartbeat. I have lived many places already and do not feel tied to NY. FH has spent his entire life here but he wants to move later on.

We would love to stay where we are in Kew Gardens because we love the neighborhood, but we both HATE the cold in NY However, we know we'll never leave NY If anything, we figure we'll move a little upstate, but not too far that I can't still work in NYC.

FH and I talk all the time about moving to Florida, to Aventura. We both have apartments there, and it just seems so much more convenient for us! Its so much less expensive to live there.

FH and I talk about moving all the time. I absolutely hate the cold weather and would move to FL. However, I think the furthest we will move to is Jersey. lol

We realize that we have to stay here as expensive as it is. I'm the major breadwinner and my job is here. FH works for the LIRR so obviously, his job is here.

His family is down in FL but mine is up here.

I always say let's just move to NC or Wisconsin or one of those places always on HGTV where you can have a palace for 250k, but we would never do it.

We always talk about it bc it's crazy how inexpensive the housing market is in other parts of the country, but FH is a teacher and would never make the same salary anywhere else.

Plus like 99% of our family still lives on LI so we'd be lonely wherever we went!

We talk about it all the time. We both met in HS when we were living in Charlotte, NC. FH and I have lived all over the place. His family is in FL and my family is here. When FH and I got together again after 8 years of lost contact, he was in Charlotte and I was here and he moved here for me.

I would love to move somewhere with warmer weather. Somewhere that I can build a brand new house for a fraction of what it cost us to buy our house on LI. But my family is here. I lost my mom in 2007 and since that happened I can't imagine being far away from my Dad and my sister.

So yeah...it's a dream of ours but it will probably never happen.

We talk back and forth with this a lot. Upstate you can get sooo much more for your money. It would still be close to home...but I can not live far from my family...i would feel lost not being able to just take a small drive to go see my parents or sister if I need them.

So I told FH that we are staying on LI...now we just have to save to get a house!

I totally agree with you! I get so crazy when I see the prices on houses around the country, but then also the standard of living is less expensive there too. I could NEVER make the money I'm making right now unless I was in a big city

We are moving to OK for 6 weeks, GA for 4 months, then to Fort Drum, NY. I'm from CA ( and a part of it that never snows), and I injured my back awhile back so I would like to settle somewhere warm. FH is from upstate NY and looovvveess snow. So, I'm hoping we can live somewhere that doesn't snow, but is just a few hours drive from the snow. But we have 8 years to decide. No hurry.
