Good morning ladies!! I'm so excited to be this weeks BOTW! Hope my questions are as good as the past BOTWs!!
So this year is my 10 year HS reunion, along with 2 of my BMs (we all went to HS together). We've been doing a lot of reminiscing lately, and it got me thinking about what I expected the 'real-world' to be and my 10 year plan (yes I totally had a 10 year plan - I'm such a dreamer lol). Which leads me to today's questions!
Is your life currently where you expected it to be?
I know that when I graduated HS, I figured that by my 10 year HS reunion that I would be married, have 2 kids, and have a career. Now that I'm finally at that stage in my life, I have a newly started career only! I also figure the kids are not going to be coming for at least another 2 years after FH and I get married.
It's just funny how naive my view on life was when I just graduated HS. Luckily, I love the life I'm living and wouldn't want to change it for anything!

I thought at 24, I'd be married and have a career. But I'm actually back in school because I hated what I was gong to school for before this and I won't be getting married until I'm 25. But oh well. Everything happens for a reason!

I assumed by 25 I would be married and pregnant with my first. I will be 28 on my wedding day and hopefully pregnant by 29 or 30 =)
I never thought much about those 'Where do you see yourself in 5 years' type of questions, but I guess in the back of my mind, I always thought I'd be married by 27 and have established myself in a career. ::shrug:: Oh well, I'm really not too far off in either one!

Great question! I think I am where I thought I would be 10 years ago. I actually think I'm getting married a bit younger than I probably expected (will be 26 on my wedding day). Children definitely won't come until i'm at least 30, though!
As for my career, it is where I hoped it would be. I am 3-4 years deep into my HR career (graduated undergrad in 2009) and am finishing up my masters degree this year - my last class is this summer! The masters took a bit long since I was only able to take 2 classes/semester at most since I work full-time.
Overall, I'm happy with how things have turned out and hope they continue to unfold this way!

Hmm. Yes & No.
When I was in high school I thought I would be married at 24, baby at 26, second baby at 28-30. Now I realize 24 would have been wayyy to young for me personally to have got married.
Other then that I am happy with where my life is now I just wish I had a higher paying job but I feel like so many of us are in the same boat on that one!

When I was in high school I definitely thought I would be married with kids by now. I am glad it didn't turn out that way because I think it would have been way to early for me to do either. I am enjoying my time with FH, just US!!!
In terms of my career, I definitely am not where I had envisioned myself career wise but life got in the way and put me on a different path. I now nanny and make pretty great money, luckily FH makes a great living.
It worked out the way it was meant to

I thought I would be established in a different career and making a little bit more money than I am but I also didn't anticipate the economy being where it is. I thought I would be married by 24 I will be 29 when I get married. I thought I would have a house already I won't have a house until at least a yr or two after the wedding. I also thought I would have kids before 30, that is most likely not going to happen either. But things happen for a reason.

My life is totally different than how I envisioned it. But I wouldn't change a thing. If I had gone to the school I was going to and studied what I originally wanted to I probably wouldn't have been living in Brooklyn and wouldn't have met Fh.

Hahahah, so like me and my friends! I for sure thought I would have it ALL figured out by 27. That I would have a career, husband, 3 kids, and a house. Ha!
At least I have a career and a soon-to-be hubby, the rest will all fall into place, but how silly I was to not only think everything happens instantly, but that I would want it to?!? Of course now at 29 I'm glad I took my time, and hell, I'm happy I will be 30 when I get married, and If I get to own a home at any point in this decade I will consider myself blessed!

I dont know that I thought much into the future when I was 16/17. I feel like I am right where I am supposed to be. Sometimes I get inpatient because I want to be married and have my own house and kids and everything, but I know the amount of time I spent in school delayed that. I am very happy where I am in my career and the school was worth it so I just have to be patient!

I think it's definitely where I saw myself but now that I'm here I push the envelope so to speak.
I have a great career, an apartment and a soon to be husband which is all what I wanted. However; now that I have all that I literally cannot wait until we have a house, my masters and children lol I need to learn to be content with what I have right now and stop jumping the gun so much haha

No way!! I thought I was going to have a great career at this point in my life. I never thought I'd be engaged by 25. After this past birthday weekend, however, I've decided this year is MY year! And soon enough, my life will be right where I want it to be!

At the ripe old age of 30 I definitely thought that I would be married with a child by now! As for my career, I am definitely where I thought I would be. I have been teaching, for what it feels like forever! I also wished that at this point I would have a nice little house where I could start a family right away. Although I do think I will start a family soon after I get married (God willing), I will have to use the gift money as a down payment on a house!
Funny how you make all these plans when you are younger and then you look back and you laugh at how ambitious you were or offbased!

I find it amazing to stop and think back and see how much as changed within you! Over the past 10 years, I've really molded into the person I am today. My values and priorities have totally changed, but for what I believe are for the better.
I have loved reading all of your answers ladies!

Oh boy, where do I even start? LOL
In my relationship, and with my family, I am exactly where I thought I'd be, in the sense that I am in a steady, strong relationship, and I have a really good relationship with my parents and the majority of my family.
Professionally, I am nowhere near where I thought I'd be. I have struggled for years to decide what I want to do for a career, but I still am struggling. I am lucky enough to have a FH who supports me and the decisions I make, but I don't want to get married while still working in a restaurant, and I definitely dont want to have children before I start a career.
