Good Morning ladies. Yesterday we went to see an offiant and it had me wondering...
Are you writing your own vows? Are you doing anything different during your ceremony?
We will be writing our own vows but they will given to the officiant and he will have us repeat them line by line after him so it gets rid of the nerves. Also he incorporates a unity wine ceremony instead of a unity candle so that will be a little different. At the end we will also be doing a rose ceremony as a first gift to each other as husband and wife.

We are just using the traditional vows. But, I'm an opera singer, so I am having one of my friends sing at the ceremony. One of the songs she is singing is ave Maria, which was my grandmother's favorite song, so that will be very special.

We are having our whole ceremony custom written for us and we will be writing our own vows. We will be doing a lasso and arras (coin) ceremony.

We wrote and read our own vows! I am so glad we did - I think it was the best decision we made. It really added such a personal and meaningful touch. I tear up every time I watch it on our wedding video (...dork). But, I def recommend doing it for anyone who is on the fence.

We're just doing the regular ceremony as is. We'd probably start laughing if we said/wrote our own vows... haha

We are not writing our own vows. We are doing a sand ceremony instead of a unity candle and we are also doing a hands ceremony.

we are doing a sand ceremony.
our officiant gave us a questionaire and we fill it out separately, then send to her for her to write a semi-personalized ceremony.
we also choose from certain passages, etc etc.
we didnt want to read ourselves because of nerves LOL so we figured this was the perfect compromise!

Our officiant is crafting our ceremony, but we're writing our own vows. We're also doing a sand ceremony with my son and doing family vows with him.
