I want to thank my hall twin SimHawk8 for making me the bride of the week. I also hope I don't repeat anyone else's qotd if I do I apologize. So here it goes....
Weddings and funerals are said to show peoples true colors. Who in your life true colors really came out in the wedding planning process? Who went from friend to foe and vice versa. (friends, family, etc)
My friend Cathy's true colors really surfaced when I realized that she wasn't a good friend at all . My sister who I wasn't really close to shocked me when she stepped up to the plate more than I expected as a bridesmaid. The wedding brought my sister and I closer and ended a friendship that I thought was more than what it really was.

so far everyone has been very good, but we arent even close to getting into the nitty gritty of the weddign planning events, etc.
Ive known all of my BMs for at least ten yrs, they are all aamzign girls who would do anything for me and I would do anything for them. I didnt pick people just to 'make the sides even' or because we have fun haning out.

So far everyone's true colors have surfaced as expected.
FSIL hates everything because it's not about her...
MOH is my cousin and threw a small tiff, but now that is out of the way....
Mom has cried about everything, which is starting to get annoying, but I'll survive :)
The list goes on... lol... however, no one has really acted out of what I've expected of them!

Luckily I have not had any drama while wedding planning. Everyone has been AMAZING!!! My FSILs are incredible and generous women! My MOH - my cousin - has stepped it up and is amazing!! My mom, aunts, everyone has been great! My FMIL had major surgery in March and my FFIL had a heart-attack in February so unfortunately they weren't able to be so involved in the planning. But they're all healed up and ready to party in 26 days!!!
My ONLY complaint about the whole process is people NOT sending back their RSVPs - I know I've vented about this before!!! And half of them are my FH's family andd friends! Some of my own family and/or friends have not even responded to my emails or FB messages or text messages trying to confirm their attendance! It's really RUDE and aggravating!!!!!

We don't have even amounts of BMs and GM either! We stuck with just family and it has been amazing!

Re: QOTD 4/25/11
Great Question....
True colors were shown early on with my bridal party when I asked the girls to be in my bridal party and one complained about everything from the color I chose, to not being able to wear her prom dress from 2000 for my wedding, to buying her own dress, etc. I thought we were over all that and discussed it all but then she was acting a little shady and when confronted said that she was working really hard and long hrs and didn't know if she had the time to be my brides maid. I acted like a nice lady that I am and just told her that her time was very valuable and didn't want to WASTE it on my precious day....I excused her from her being in the party and wished her all the best....

The two in my bridal party that gave me stress was my ex friend cathy who I had known since high school so 13/14 years and my cousin who I had known all my life. My sister who we are on again off again in being close really stepped up. Everyone in bridal party is either family or friends for 8+ years

I think the people who have showed their true colors have been my family and FH's family.
My family in a positive way. Everyone is so supportive and all kinds of cousins helped with wrapping and prep for my shower and are offering all kins of help and we have an 81% yes rate.
FH's family can't be bothered at all. Of the 27% that have bothered to respond, only 45% are coming.

so far its my one bm who i always knew was a pain in the butt and wanted to be married but i never thought she would take it this far if it was for a friend.....she has given me an attitude/ issue about everything wedding i have mentioned or asked her to do....and bailed on the bachelorette party last minute and started a ridiculous fight with me the morning we were all going away, insulting other bridesmaids etc....its absolutely ridiculous how jealous people can get when your wedding obviously says nothing about them....barely has anything to do with them, people get nasty anways i guess :/

My uncle and his family are on my sh*t list - going back to the e-party.
Also a friend is no longer a friend - I deleted her on FB and took her number out of my phone. She's made NO effort to be a part of the big events (eparty and wedding) and for no good reson other then she doesn't want to be around someone else who will def be there (a groomsman who is her ex).
It's a BS excuse since it happened years ago - time to get over it and be there for people who you consider a friend but obviously not.

Re: QOTD 4/25/11
I have to say, in the beginning I was REALLY disappointed in my entire bridal party bc no one asked about anything!!! My moh did recently step it up though, she asks about details and has played a big part in the shower planning. My good friend from HS hasn't asked about my wedding AT ALL and I regret putting her in the bp but oh well!
Also, my fmil has become a selfish, controlling, rude monster. I refuse to talk to her about anything wedding related anymore!

One of my aunt's really surprised me, she was unhappy with our location for the wedding and how is she going to get there. Additionally, we have had other 'friends' complain about the location and how they will get to Brentwood where the LIRR goes. It's annoying .... my bp has been very absentee at first but they seem to be getting it together as it is more of a reality to them that wedding is almost here. My mom has been surprisingly more helpful and involved than I thought she'd be. Other than that everyone has been their normal selves.

I found out how blessed I was.
My bridal party has been absolutely awesome! They all get along and put me first when it comes to everything. Noone has complained to me or anything.
