Good morning Ladies! Happy Monday. I guess I will go a different direction from my question from yesterday since no one replied = ( Not sure if this question may have been asked before, but how did you and your FH pick your wedding date? Did you prefer a specific time of year or did you happen to randomly chose a date.
I always knew I wanted a winter wedding. Something different since many people normally get married between June and September months. Plus my favorite time of year is from Thanksgiving - New Year’s. Originally we wanted New Year’s Eve, as we felt what better way to bring in the New Year with our closest of family and friends. Unfortunately, that date was hard to book and it was more costly. So we decided to see what was the closest date we could get right around New Year’s eve and that was how we picked 1-3-2015. We looked at it as ending 2014 with a celebration as well as starting 2015 with another celebration – Our Wedding = )

We first narrowed our date down to the price. We knew May-October is 'wedding season' so that's why we went with April because we wanted the spring weather. We narrowed it down to a few weekends and we knew we wanted it on a Saturday night. A few of the other weekends were already booked(and I thought we did it really far in advanced!) We got the last weekend in April which is right before the price goes a lot higher and she said it's a very popular weekend..It also turns out that it will be on the April 25th, not even realizing that we got engaged on July 25th, and 25 has always been my lucky number so I guess it helped!

Me and my FH love Halloween so lucky for us Halloween falls on a Saturday in 2015! But as we looked around we realized getting married on a Saturday was significantly more expensive than on another day and also there are a handful of kids attending the wedding I would feel so bad that they missed out on trick or treating. So we went with Friday so we can take a mini honeymoon and go to Salem Massachusetts for their huge Halloween Festival!

We also went with price....We were told also april cheaper but they would give us price for first weekend in May so that's how we chose it...we also knew we wanted to be engaged a year or more...

I knew I wanted a fall wedding - and November is less expensive than October. Then we chose the 27th becuase so many ppl are off the day after thanksgiving, so it is almost like a Saturday wedding but at a Friday price. We went to 2 weddings that weekend (both at the same place we are gettng married) over the past few years and they were both great

So thats how we decided

This!! Great minds think alike considering we booked the same venue a few weeks apart for the same rationale!!

We went on price alone. We originally wanted an October/November wedding, but the prices in October were too high and then the weekends available in November didn't work. So we went with a February wedding due to price and having the school vacation attached. It is at the end of a school vacation so I will have off the whole week before the wedding to prepare and relax.

We wanted a holiday weekend because most people are traveling and thought it would be nice for them to have a bit of time off to start with. Friday was about $3000 cheaper, so we went with that! We were deciding between Labor Day and Memorial Day but I didn't want to wait all the way until Labor Day! haha

At first FH and I wanted a fall wedding in 2016 because he has to finish school and we need time to save for a house. Specifically early October. But then we found out that apparently at some venues May/June and Sept/Oct is MORE expensive than July/Aug. So we went with August. We also wanted Saturday or Sunday of a holiday weekend but just couldn't afford it at our venue, so we settled on Friday. I chose the 26th because I prefer even numbers (another thing FH rolls his eyes at =P ). So it was either the 18th or 26th and FH preferred the 26th arguing that it 'won't be as hot so late in August'. Yeah, right buddy. ;)

I wanted an even day also! So weird, because I'm not usually crazy over things like that. FFIL wanted us to do that Saturday and I was like no... 5/23 just doesn't sound right. lol

We based it on price...I would have liked a summer wedding in hopes that I will have a full time teaching job and wouldnt have to worry about asking for days off, but we just couldnt afford it.

Being a teacher, the summer is the most convenient time for me to get married but I didn't want a summer wedding because of the heat. I have always loved Spring so that is why we decided on my Spring Break from school. FH really didn't care when we got married so it was left up to me. I chose that Friday night so I have 2 days after the wedding before going back to work instead of 1. We will just go on our honeymoon that summer.

I always wanted a September wedding but pricing was an issue, not that October was much less but we also had our first date in the 11th of the month and our anniversary is the first. So 1's just fit. After booking we realized 10/11 is also a week after my birthday. To some people that might be an issue but my 29th birthday will be the week before I get married, what better way to celebrate the last year in my 20s and my last week as a single lady!!

FH and I knew we wanted weather nice enough to have an outdoor ceremony (hopefully). We both love spring and early fall. Since most venues required high numbers for the amount of people we needed to guarantee, we thought of doing an off day to decrease this number and hopefully the price. Since a lot of people are traveling, we couldn't really do Friday without inconveniencing anyone. We decided we could do a Sunday night wedding the day before a holiday that everyone has off. FH's job doesn't give off too many holidays so using his schedule we figured Labor Day weekend would be perfect! Unfortunately, our date was booked at LOB and we decided to go for Memorial Day instead. I love May it's my birthday month!
