Today's Question: Have you picked a Wedding Song yet? (for the first dance) If so, what did you pick and why, if not what are you thinking about using.
My Answer: This is actually a topic that has caused a disagreement between me and FH (such a stupid thing to fight over) but we have 'our song' and it's not the kind you can dance to really, so we are actively looking for another song to dance to. Everytime Ifind a good one that I think speaks to Us as a couple, he shoots it down right away. We like the same kind of music so it's not taste he just either 'friggin hates' that song or thinks the song is 'too old', 'not timeless', 'played out' etc etc. So until further notice I say our song is 'Bless the Broken Road' by Rascal Flatts. It's just perfect for us two, and he doesn't know it yet but I'll talk him into it. hahah

I really want to do Dave Matthews Band 'Steady As We Go', since I'm a huge fan and his music isn't really dance music I need to get it in in some way. But it may be too slow unless I can get the band to do a faster paced version. If that doesn't happen, 'Gd Bless the Broken Road' is basically written about our relationship, but I don't wanna be cliche and I worry that it is. I want to have a song that is just ours and no one else we know would either know or have any connection with it.
So funny that some of you girls mentioned 'First Day of My life', it's the song I want to use in my trailer for our video.
FH doesn't really have much of an opinion, he's trusting my musical taste. Yay for that otherwise we'd be dancing to Raekwon the Chef or Macklemore.

The song my FH and I picked is called 'The Book of Love' by Peter Gabriel. Mike (FH) and I got into a big Scrubs kick and it was the song in the last episode. It completely describes Mike and I. It talks about reading to each other (which we used to do every night) and singing to each other, (which we are in a band together so that was perfect as well.) In fact, we decided this would be a song before we even got engaged. It played in the TV show and for some reason I started crying from the song and just then we knew. It was perfect and the song is brilliant!

We are most likely going to pick 'harvest moon' by Neil young. It's so beautiful and really fits out relationship.

Macklemore is awesome. You could dance to thrift shop lol.

I'm late on this but I fell asleep before answering: We thought of doing 'better together' by jack Johnson but its a little overdone... The only band that we both listen to (that I introduced him to) is death cab for cutie, and our song has always been 'ill follow you into the dark'... It's a little morbid though and we are not morbid people! But a few weeks into our engagement FH says 'I've decided I want that to be our wedding song' .. Since he was so passionate about it I agreed :)

We are using 'Lifelong Lullabye' by Will Derryberry. It's more of a slower paced dance song, but its so pretty and I melt when FH sings me the lyrics . The best part- it's a song I can sing our future babies to sleep to
