Today's Question: Have you picked a Wedding Song yet? (for the first dance) If so, what did you pick and why, if not what are you thinking about using.
My Answer: This is actually a topic that has caused a disagreement between me and FH (such a stupid thing to fight over) but we have 'our song' and it's not the kind you can dance to really, so we are actively looking for another song to dance to. Everytime Ifind a good one that I think speaks to Us as a couple, he shoots it down right away. We like the same kind of music so it's not taste he just either 'friggin hates' that song or thinks the song is 'too old', 'not timeless', 'played out' etc etc. So until further notice I say our song is 'Bless the Broken Road' by Rascal Flatts. It's just perfect for us two, and he doesn't know it yet but I'll talk him into it. hahah

We are using green eyes by Coldplay- it's kinda slow but we don't really care because its a song that we both love. We were initially going to use all the way by frank Sinatra but decided that it wasn't really 'us'. We just decided that we would pick a song we like and not worry about the beat because at the end of the day all we're doing is swaying left and right and kissing for 2 mins while guests watch for 30 seconds of it and then go to the bar and drink hahaha

My entire life it's been 'I'll be lovin' you forever' by New Kids on the Block...then my mother comes over a few years ago and crushes my hopes and dreams because she watched 'joyful' noise and dolly parton sings 'from here to the moon and back' and it's basically the perfect first dance song for fH and I...ugh

This is a huge debate for us too!! We want a country song I wanted Zac Brown (because we got engaged at his concert) I love 'Whatever it is' but it's a bit fast. If not probably Brad Paisley 'Then' because it's country, we love him and it talks about a long journey of love and I think 10 years qualifies :)

First Day of My Life by Bright Eyes. I made FH listen to it after we got engaged and he LOVED it. It has recently been featured in a Zillow commercial which meant it was fate for us to start looking into buying a home haha

FH and I will be dancing to 'Good Thing' by Reel Big Fish as our first dance. Its not a typical first dance song by any means (its a fairly upbeat ska song) but its one of FH's favorite bands. He took me to see them in concert when we first started dating and when they played this song we were dancing and he hugged me from behind and kissed my cheek and that was the moment I knew I was falling in love with him and wanted to dance all my dances with him.
I know its a corny story but he really is my good thing :)

I wanted to use then by brad paisley and it is perfect for fh and I but a friend of ours used just used it for their wedding so I want a different song... But haven't found the perfect one yet

yes we have! FH is from Colombia and we both LOVE to dance! especially salsa.. Marc Anthony is my favoriteeee and he has a song that has a slow ballad version and a faster salsa version. it was just a perfect idea when it came to us because we'd like to play it again later in the night and start the dance off just us then ask everyone to join ad we'll still be able to have our slow first dance :)

FH proposed to me when we were on our way to a Nick Cave concert. So he really wants our first song to be 'Into my Arms'. But while I like the song, I don't think we can really dance to it, so I'm trying to come up with new songs that he would like. He is very picky though, and we haven't agreed on an alternative yet.
