Can you guys believe its May!!! Congrats to all the May 2010 girls who are almost a year away now. This time next year will be crazinesssss!!!

So I always find it interesting how couples divide up the things in their life amongst each other to be the one 'in charge of'. I guess this all depends on our different personalities and what we are best or not so good at and I know sometimes its just what we dont want to do, so the other one gets stuck with it (but they love you of course so do it with a smile, umm yeah, not so much )

***So if you already live together, how do you and FH split up the chores, daily, monthly obligations, etc that you have. Or if you dont live together, you might still be splitting up things already but if not, how do you think this will go once you live together?***

So lets see for us...

Cleaning...FH does on a more weekly basis but Im the all out huge cleaning once a month person. But he definately gets the credit for making it look decent more often than not.

Bills...Totally me, we would be living under a rock with a creditor banging on it if it werent for me I dont mind but somtimes if I just ask for him to pay one and he doesnt, it drives me insane

Garbage...him

Food shopping...Me

Bring in Mail...either

Feed the cats...mostly him, but we share

Wash and dry laundry...me, he folds though, I hate this with a passion

Cook...hes definately the better cook, but I cook more often

HAPPY FRIDAAYYYY!!!!!!!

cooking, dishes, and cleaning to make the apartment look half decent, garbabge - FH
laundry, folding clothes, outfit picking (for both) - me
feeding the cats - both
driving to places - FH
grocery shopping - together
setting up social activities and fun outings/vacations - me
paying the communal bills - me

looking at this list now I see that we're pretty much 50-50 and not 'all me' as I usually think.
note to self: commend FH on great partnership

So, we don't live together at this time, but one thing related to the wedding that we attempted to share was paying the bills. Well do I have a story lol (It's probably very typical but I was not happy with him lol).

I have DREAMED of having a string quartet for the ceremony to walk down the aisle to Canon in D since forever. We finally booked and I literally was ecstatic, one of my greatest wedding dreams was coming true! Well dear fiance wrote the check and mailed it. Weeks later I get an email from the company that the check bounced :(. I looked at him and he tries to look back at what he did. In all fairness the company waited a very long time to cash it. Unfortunately FH's company does his direct deposit into the wedding fund to his checking account. So, he's always transferring money over into the savings. He transferred all the money in this one time, thinking all the checks we sent out awhile ago were already cashed, buttt not so much. All I said to him was if for some reason you ruin this dream for me, I will be very upset lol. Luckily the string quartet company was awesome and totally understood, we paid the $12 fee they were charged by their bank and then I sent a new check lol. From now on, I take care of this, or at least am wayyy more on top of him about it. Once married and living together, I will def be in charge of the bills .

honestly, I can't think of anything that only he does or only I do....we both take turns doing all of the chores. We both cook, clean, do bills, garbage, etc....I mean maybe theres some things that he does more or some things I do more....but we basically help each other out with everything.

we both still live at home, but we sleep together every night and he has a dresser and almost all of his clothes at my house (my room is the whole basement) & i have a lot of stuff by him too

i already know he is spoiled by his mother and probably will not do much so i can already see the chores being broken up as follows:

laundry - definitely me

cleaning - me

garbage - totally him

cooking - we both cook, & he cooks very well so i'm sure we will share this duty, but i'm sure i will do most of the cooking during the week

dishes - whoever cooks, the other one will do the dishes

bills - me, i already do all of his now anyway

feed the dogs - both

food shopping - both

i think that about sums it up

We have been living together for almost 2 years and we always try to spilt everything 50/50…but FH does all the cooking and really enjoys cooking which is great! I try sometimes, but this is mostly his area - he LOVES to cook.

I do mostly all of the cleaning, dusting, dishes, laundry etc. We really try to share everything with the house the best we can. But, I mostly take care of this area - some strange reason I enjoy cleaning and he hates to clean - so that works out great for us.

All the bills FH takes care of all of that stuff on his own. When we moved in together we decided that he would take care of all the bills and I focus on just saving. Its been working very well, and I always offer to give money towards something but he never will take it. But, in the end its all going to the same place. Of course, I have my own expenses such as cell phone, car loan, gym, stuff like that.

So far, everything has been working very nice for us. So, we really try to share everything and help each other out the best we can.

Cooking - usually me, but sometimes him
Dishes - usually him, but sometimes me
(whichever one cooks, the other does the dishes)

Garbage - usually him

Cleaning - combination

Yardwork - him

Groceries - we do together

Feeding the pets - usually me

Making the bed - ALWAYS me

Laundry - combination.....often he'll throw it in, but he never folds it and puts it away....that's my job.

ETA Bills - we each have bills in our own names (since we're not married yet). He has electric, I have optimum and cell phones, and mom (lives downstairs) has water and gas.

I prefer to be in charge of cleaning, since I am that type of person who knows it will only get done right if I do it (aka control freak lol). He is definitely in charge of all outside labor and general handiwork, he lives for that kind of stuff but I have a short attention span and can't be bothered.

Don't know if things will be split up so explicitly.. whenever something needs to be done, whoever can will do it.

We don't live together, but I think this is how it will go...

Garbage... Him

Food shopping... Me

Bring in Mail... Both

Feed the dog (I'm dying for a dog)... Hopefully both

Wash and dry laundry... I would love to say both, but I bet it will be all me!

Cook... He can cook a little, but I picture him leaving it up to me

My FMIL tells me constantly that I have a rude awakening coming. He is very spoiled by her and she regrets it now, b/c it's about to be an issue!
