Can you guys believe its May!!! Congrats to all the May 2010 girls who are almost a year away now. This time next year will be crazinesssss!!!
So I always find it interesting how couples divide up the things in their life amongst each other to be the one 'in charge of'. I guess this all depends on our different personalities and what we are best or not so good at and I know sometimes its just what we dont want to do, so the other one gets stuck with it (but they love you of course so do it with a smile, umm yeah, not so much )
***So if you already live together, how do you and FH split up the chores, daily, monthly obligations, etc that you have. Or if you dont live together, you might still be splitting up things already but if not, how do you think this will go once you live together?***
So lets see for us...
Cleaning...FH does on a more weekly basis but Im the all out huge cleaning once a month person. But he definately gets the credit for making it look decent more often than not.
Bills...Totally me, we would be living under a rock with a creditor banging on it if it werent for me I dont mind but somtimes if I just ask for him to pay one and he doesnt, it drives me insane
Garbage...him
Food shopping...Me
Bring in Mail...either
Feed the cats...mostly him, but we share
Wash and dry laundry...me, he folds though, I hate this with a passion
Cook...hes definately the better cook, but I cook more often

honestly the only thing I expect from FH is to pay for the bills, mortgage etc
ill be in charge pf everything else --- chores, cleaning, sending out the bills, groceries, cooking, etc

We don't live together so this is all speculation.
Cleaning we will probably do together, we're both committed to living in a clean house.
I'll definitely be handling money management until FH can learn the difference between 'want' and 'need'
Groceries will probably be whoever its more convenient for
Cooking...I don't know. Hopefully FH until I really feel comfortable doing it...I've never done it on a consistent basis before!
Garbage he can handle, that's a man job
Laundry...I am a freak about how my laundry gets washed and folded so maybe I'll trade him for something else if I do all the laundry haha

I cook (indoors...he does all bbq stuff) and do laundry. He does everything else! He is home during the day while I work, so he insisted on doing everything, but he HATES laundry, so I get to do that, which I don't mind!

So lets see for us...
Cleaning...I do all the cleaning.... sometimes get a cleaning lady in to help.... We both work way too much and just want to enjoy life without cleaning sometimes. But once every few months, I'll hire her to do the seasonal deep grimey cleaning that takes all damn day. Otherwise....just me.
He will load the dishwasher at times.
We both take out the trash...
Bills...We split the bills. I make sure they get paid, but he tackles rent... I tackle utilities, groceries and toiletries.
Bring in Mail...who ever gets home first
Wash and dry laundry...He does his own. Once in a blue I will do something. Mostly, I send my clothes out to be done... or dry cleaning for work clothes
Cook...I cook ALL the time. He doesn't cook

Cleaning...me, i am totally anal when it comes to crumbs and stuff.. i am constantly sweeping the floor lol
Bills... probably him b/c is really good w/ his checkbook but prob the both of us

We live together and right now I am responsible for folding the laundry. He can't fold laundry if his life depended on it so that job got allocated to me. Everything else we share, although we both have the things we dont like to do I Hate taking out the garbage, so he does that most of the time, I hate cleaning pots and pans, so he helps most of the time with that He usually sends out rent I do most of the cooking although he learned how to cook a couple things and will cook occasionally.

Food Shopping - Me
Cooking - Me on most nights but he does cook one or two nights a week
Cleaning - Both.. when I got home from work last night, he had cleaned the whole apartment.. nice surprise
Bills - Both but he handles more since I'm in school still and only working part-time
Garbage - Usually him
Laundry - Me
I really must admit that I'm lucky because FH does a lot more than I expected him to when we first moved in together. He's always very helpful and he thanks me for dinner each night and is just very sweet about it.
