*~QOTD 5/13/2009*~

Good Morning!

So someone brought up budget yesterday. We all have our budgets. But what would you do if you were given an extra $5,000 to use in your budget, and it had to be used towards the wedding in some way. Where would you put it to use?

On the other hand, what would you do if you had to reduce your budget 10%, what would be the first thing you would cut (assuming you could get out of any contract without penalty)?

Sorry for all the numbers girls, I am an accountant, its just how I think!

Now my answer,
If I had an extra 5k, I would probably spread it out. I'd keep all my vendors that I have the same, but I would put some extra towards flowers so I can decorate the my entire RH, and some extra towards the Kenneth Pool Gown I had been eyeing before I figured out the cost.

Now if my budget dropped, I'd probably have to cut from everywhere, invitations and favors I'd skimp on, definitely spend less on my gown, and probably would cut my guest list so I would be at my bare minimum. I don't even want to think about it!

If I had extra money, I would add an extra hour on to my party and have an even bigger vienesse thing

If i had to cut, I would say I would probably cut on either flowers or my dress/hair/makeup

If I had an extra 5k, I would leave my wedding just as it is, and put it towards the HM. I would take a longer vaca and go to Tahiti.

Now if I had to cute 10% I would skimp a little from each vendor (Dj, I would ditch the uplighting, Flowers- I would do low CP's, Invitations, I would DIY) so it all would all totoal up to 10%. It would still be fab though...

Oh and I would not chose a different gown no matter what the cost. My gown is not super expensive by any means but I absolutley LOVE IT!

Extra 5k- I would use towards our after party. As of now, I think the amount of $$ we're spending on our vendors is reasonable, and I wouldnt want anything more or less.

If we had to cut, I'd want to save money on invites and favors.

omg only 5K, lol, i just wrote out this thing and then i go wait, that like 20K!

i would have some church flowers.
extend the hm by a night or two (or maybe go to two different places)
depending on how much, i would change to a saturday night.
maybe have a second dress
have pin spotlighting

if my budget decreased...
i would wait to order the photo album until after the wedding
get a much less expensive videographer
have a winter wedding (maybe)
not have uplighting
go on a cheaper hm and wait to go on a more expensive one till our one year anniversary

If i had 5,000 more I prob wouldn't add anything big to my wedding, maybe just pay for the limos so I don't have to comtenplate having them. I would use the rest of the money for the honeymoon so we can stay in the best suite we can find!!

If budget was reduced we would def cut limos and prob do smaller favors, we are currently sending a lot of favors. I dunno what else I could cut if i had to...

i'd put the extra 5k towards food

id take away the dj and just have a band, and would prob not spend as much on dress/jewelry/shoes

Talking about money *****...but hey if I had 5K extra things would be a little more fun!

Let's see I would probably spend the extra cash towards my shoes (a pair of manolos) and the honeymoon.

If on the other hand I needed to cut down 10%....I would probably not do favors and maybe reduce my guestlist.

If I had an extra 5k I would add on to the reception, and have Mr. Met show up.
If I had to cut, I would just have a basic photo package and video package and worry about albums and dvd copies after

$5k more...maybe look at pricier dresses (as of now, im not seriously considering anything over $1500, b/c of budget)....and i would definately be pushing a band!!!!!!

10% less....more simple centerpieces (maybe even DIY), more DIY stuff, shorter HM :(

If I had extra money I would probably add an extra hour and get a photobooth.....OR Hire Big Shot to play for an hour (its $5k for one hour)

If I had to cut, I would probably just get a second job so I wouldn't have to cut anywhere!

5K extra: change from a Sunday afternoon to a Saturday night. If there is extra money left put it towards HM.

10% less: I have no clue what else I can cut!!! As it is I am budgeting everything like crazy, keeping all to a bare minimum. Probably will have a winter wedding instead of a May.

If I had an extra $5k right now to spend - I would pay down/off the dj and the photographer - wouldn't change the wedding at all.

If I had to cut by 10% I would probably cut the invite list...

I would keep all of my venders, I love them!!! I would get boxed invitations or would pay for as many guests to stay at the hotel, and let the party continue into the next day :)

If I had to cut the budget - I would cry, and then I would cut the CH band :(

Extra money i would get a rolls ( we are just getting ahummer) and add the seafood to my ch which we may do we have some but FH wants the whole thing, put the rest towards my HM.

Take away i have no idea i feel like i am already doing the bare min. I think i would skip on favors ( my mom would yell) not do a viedo.
I would not change my dress i love it FH thinks i already spend too much on ti wait till he sees it !!!

If I had an extra 5K I would put it towards my apparal for the day, nicer dress and the bling bling! I would also want to upgrade my photographer and DJ.

If I had to cut my budget by 10%, I would not do favors... I don't know what else, we are scrimping like woah on the endors so I don't know what's left to cut off lol.

extra 5k id probably spend some more on the dj, pay for my bm dresses hair and mu, and i would prob go more all out with linens..idk lol

cut 10%?--invites, i guess i wouldn't have bought my jimmys, scimp on favors and gifts for the bp(that's sooooooooooo horrible but our budget isnt very large, and neither is our bp..yet were spending about 150 pp for the bp on their giftsx8=1200)

If I had an extra 5k, I would apply it to the overall wedding budget (just to be ahead); or add to my HM package.

On the other hand, if I had to cut 10% of the entire budget, then I would omit the all the little extras such as uplighting, boxed invites, etc.

if i had an extra 5k i would put that towards the honeymoon since that's not in my budget right now anyway.

If i had to cut umm.... i'd do cheap invitations, and.... yeah i dunno. I'm not doing anything extra really and am inviting only the necessary people which i can't cut. Oh, i wouldn't invite kids to the wedding. That's all.
