Good Morning!

So someone brought up budget yesterday. We all have our budgets. But what would you do if you were given an extra $5,000 to use in your budget, and it had to be used towards the wedding in some way. Where would you put it to use?

On the other hand, what would you do if you had to reduce your budget 10%, what would be the first thing you would cut (assuming you could get out of any contract without penalty)?

Sorry for all the numbers girls, I am an accountant, its just how I think!

Now my answer,
If I had an extra 5k, I would probably spread it out. I'd keep all my vendors that I have the same, but I would put some extra towards flowers so I can decorate the my entire RH, and some extra towards the Kenneth Pool Gown I had been eyeing before I figured out the cost.

Now if my budget dropped, I'd probably have to cut from everywhere, invitations and favors I'd skimp on, definitely spend less on my gown, and probably would cut my guest list so I would be at my bare minimum. I don't even want to think about it!

hmmm...

An extra 5k....i would add on more upgrades at the RH, extend the HM, do fancier invites...ohh the possibilites are endless!!

less... i would get married in the winter bec i really dont want to give anything up! (knock on wood I, nor anyone else, will have to!!!)

An extra 5k would be great! I would book my bridal party hotel rooms for the night so all of them could go to the after party, I would also add the extra hour onto the wedding and I would add the remainder onto our honeymoon!

If I had to decrease our budget, I would try to convince FH we don't need a raw bar at the cocktail hour and get rid of the extra desserts we added on besides the cake.

i would probably spread the 5k out....there are little things i keep thinking that i want to upgrade with each of my vendors...and the money would help do that!

if I had to reduce the cost....i think first thing I would cut would be the flowers i picked...we are spending a lot on flowers and there are def ways i could cut back. i guess also inviting less people, diying more stuff would help reduce the cost.

If I had an extra 5k I'd probably do something really nice for my parents for hosting all wedding related events.

If I had to cut 10k, I'd probably do cheaper invites, inexpensive favors, reduce the band by 1 or 2 pieces, only go on one HM (we're going to napa right after and Maldives 4 months later when its prime season).

If I had an extra $5K, I'd use it either on flowers, maybe a more expensive band, or upgrades from the RH.

If I had to make cuts, I'd probably make them on invites (haven't done mine yet), limos (smaller cars), and probably my guest list.

Can I put extra money to the HM??? If not, then I'd probably get a band.

If I had to cut, I would ditch the limos.

Extra $5K - buy my Louboutins and get a designer gown without thinking twice if it was a good idea or not.

Cut the budget - I would cut back on my CP's

great question
to be honest with u girls i would just put the 5k to the rh, so i know thats one less payment.
if i had to cute back it would be on the list of people i have coming already.
edited for spelling

An extra 5K:
I would get the lighting I wanted.
I would provide transportation for guests who do not have cars.

Less 5K:
I would get the basic DJ package, no extras.
I would not have my candy buffet.
I would probably do a very simple favor, instead of edible favors.
I would choose regular invitations instead of the Indian ones that I'm in love with and definitely getting.
I would do my own centerpieces instead of going to the florist.

If I had extra money, I would want a spring wedding so that I can see some flowers in my pictures.

To cut back, I would take it from invitations, favors, programs, or number of people invited.

If I had an extra 5k I would probably put it towards food. FH is a foodie so I would add it to the cocktail hour... or maybe put some of it towards the bar tab for the after party at the hotel.

If I had to reduce my budget by 10% I would cut the video, and end up doing more DIY projects than ordering things like programs, menu cards, placecards etc...if I still had to cut it would come out of the flowers... I'm not a huge flower person.

Extra 5K - not sure I would change anything since I have not had to skimp on anything. Maybe put it towards an extension on our HM.

Decrease - I would skimp on favors and Invitations

If I had an extra $5K, I would prob host an after party, upgrade photo/video and transp. or honeymoon!

If I had to cut, I would prob hold off on the HM or skimp on dress. Maybe even get basic DJ services...save a lot there.

extra 5k... Vietnamese hour definitely and maybe that $650 (on sale) pair of blue shoes posted a little bit back. If there was $ left and I had room in the RH I'd add the photo booth and/or an ice cream truck after my ceremony.

cut back 10%-->

First- definitely a different (much cheaper) DJ,

2nd--> cut back on details (not do the flip flop basket/ bubbles/candy buffet/ no napkins/matches)

3rd --> Cut back on BM gifts/hair/makeup

And if I still needed to cut money, get my photos on CD only (no album) and maybe no video.
