QOTD!!

Original post by VickiR510

' The female and the male
are partners on a journey of spiritual growth.
They want to make the journey.
Their love and trust keep them together.
Their intuition guides them. They consult with each other.
They are friends. They laugh a lot. They are equals. '

Spirituality and marriage. I know for most of us they go hand in hand. Religion is a big part of most of our lives. How we will depend upon our faith in certain times remains to be seen. I know I thank the big guy upstairs everday for my FH, my family & my wonderful friends. I even throw LIW in there once in awhile! lol lol I guess what im trying to ask you all is:

How does religion play a part in your realtionship? Are you active members? Or the holidays only type or not into religion at all?

Re: QOTD!!

Me and my FH are both very Spritual people, however, we both don't make it to church as often as we should. God plays a big part in our lives.

Me and FH literally Thank God everyday we found each other. I am a person, who prays constantly. Im the crazy person who has to cross herself everytime she gets into her car.

Me and FH know its because of God that we met each other, and thank him for all the blessings we have in our lives. God constatly makes a way out of no way for us. We are really blessed.

I am catholic, FH is Baptist, however we are getting married in my church and will be raising our children Catholic. As I got older and went to college, I began to go to all kind of churches, and I love to explore different aspects of christianity. However, I love the fact I was raised catholic and given a foundation in Christ. I want the same for my children. I want them to know why we celebrate Christmas and Easter. When they get older I'll encourage them to go to all different types of churches.

We are very religious! We go to church every Sunday and we also go to a Sunday School class on Sundays. We pray together every night, while holding each other before we go to sleep and we take turns saying grace every time we eat.

Hahaha now we sound like dorks. But seriously, our faith is very important to us and we know all too well that we wouldn't have each other, our families, our friends, our jobs, our beautiful home, if it wasn't for God, who has brought us through everything!

I think thats really special Jess.

I used to be very active in my church... over active actually. Long story short... people left and it wasn't as nice anymore.
FH is not involved in his Church at all. He sometimes says that he would like to go to Church but that quickly passes.

We are both Catholic. I am more religious than he is but it is a big part of both of our lives.

For me it is all about the holidays because my mother is Jewish and my father is Christian. I would go to temple and church for holidays and we would celebrate every holiday in our home. I have some idea of both religions, but was not in a religious home because I was exposed to both as a part of my culture, not something to be a devote follower of. I feel this helped shape my life in a positive way as to be open to different ideas. FH was also exposed to both Judaism and Catholicism.

I have just the opposite of you...mom catholic and dad jewish. But I was raised catholic and celebrated both holidays.

It's nice when you have both! Will you continue to celebrate both when you get married?

No, we havent celebrated any of the jewish religion since my father passed( he died as a Catholic actually) but, I still eat the food...YUMMY
