*QOTD 5/26/11

It seems like everyone I know has baby fever!!!!!!!

Do you plan on getting pregnant shortly after your wedding ?

Why or why not??

I already have a 9 year old.... and ideally I would love to have another child right away.( I am not getting any younger!)
BUT I already know the work it takes to raise a baby and then a child and I am much more hesitant than FH.

What are all your thoughts about baby fever??? What does FH think?

I think we will wait a while to get our acts together and buy a house and get settled with that first.

hell no! FH and I want some peace and quiet before we start doing that. we dont live together yet so we want to enjoy some alone time, then start makin babies!

Our official honeymoon isn't until the summer of '12 so there will be no baby making before that

I have a 17 yo and I am 35 and he is 42. So we both agreed to no kids. Our friends and family have lil ones, so they are our 'adopted' kids.

Yes...fh is a few years older than me and he would like to have a baby right away...I don't have a problem w/ it considering I'm not getting any younger myself lol. I just want to get the pregnancy stuff over with while I'm still young and in good shape.

I don't want kids for years....I'm 28 but I don't care! I am so not ready and am not sure if I ever will be which scares me......

As much as I want to become a Mother and FH wants to become a Daddy so badly We will wait for at least One year...
At least this is what we think, God willing.

We want to enjoy our marriage more u know? with kids everything is different...

I'm 27 and will turn 28 two months after my wedding. I always wanted to 'start' before I turned 30, but after being around my nieces and nephews for the past 5 years, I think I'm going to wait! I think 32 or 33 is more realistic for me. I always wanted 3 kids, but realistically we'll likely have 2. If I want a third when I'm 38ish, then maybe I'll go for it, but we're DEFINITELY waiting a bit. I need to see the world first, and buy a house.

DH reaaaaaaallly wants to but we both agreed that it would be better to wait a little while so we can save for a house first. It wouldn't be the end of the world if it happened beforehand since we have a 2 bedroom apt. right now but we both would really like to be settled in a house before we start trying (or at least close to settling into a house).

Well the intial plan was to start trying a couple months before the wedding. So I would be barley prego in my dress. I am a teacher, so I really only have a 3 month window to try to get pregnant to be due during the summer and not miss work.

But I have been thinking about it, and thinking to maybe just wait out the year, and try for next year. I don't see us getting a house anytime soon...we just bought a car, but we have a 2 bedroom apt.

I feel like I am getting old, so want to get the show on the road (especially if we want more than one)...but I also feel like a year isn't too much.

we are both 30/31 so i want to get on with it sooner than later. It depends on our housin situation. if we buy then yes get pregnant soon, if we are under construction on his house now, then no.

i'm glad to hear that i'm not the only one that wants to wait! Fh wants one soo bad-i think because all his friends have kids and he's turning 33 soon but I definitely want to wait 1 year and then have two kids close together. My sister and I are 18 mos apart and are the best of friends and were growing up also.

Nope. I need 'selfish time' - where we can go to Europe for 2 weeks in summer without a second thought or I can drop a tax refund on a new Coach bag lol I'm only 26 and he's 28 so we'll probably wait 3 or 4 years to start.

I'm the MOH in my friends wedding which is next year and I don't really want to be pregnant for that. With that, I'm pretty sure we'll be trying sometime next year...although if you talk to my mom, she wants honeymoon grandkids!!!!!

Nope.

We were supposed to get married in 2006 so in our original plan, we WOULD have kids by now, but we really want to spend some time enjoying being married and having a strong marriage before bringing kids into it. I also want to try to travel a bit. It's hard because we don't have a LOT of time. I don't want to wait more than 2 years because we both want to have a lot of kids and we're not that young anymore.
