Gooooood Morning Ladies!

Here is today's Question:

Do you/ will you know about your shower, if so will you be assisting in the planning, or do you prefer it to be a surprise?

My answer:

In my experience, showers (even surprise ones) rarely are real surprises lol. Hey its a month or two before the wedding, everyone from out of town is magically visiting, and your fh or moh tells you they want to take you to a fancy lunch? hahaha yeah many brides knows whats going on at that point.

So I guess I assume I will know about it or at least have a hunch. Especially since my MOH lives out of state. I did give a little in put to my girls too, suggesting they use my mother's backyard for the shower. Since I've been a MOH recently I empathize with the amount of money and planning involved, I let them know that it would be more than fine to just use my mom's beautiful backyard and save them a lot of hassle!

Also I'm contemplating buying a decent dress at the end of this season (when it's on sale! lol) and giving it to my MOH or other BMs this way if they do actually surprise me I have a decent outfit on hand lol. Hey I'm not vain I just generally don't ever dress up and I don't need shower pics of me in sweatpants lol

I truly HOPE my family can surprise me for my shower! They once surprised my dad for his 50th bday inside a supermarket, so they have pretty brilliant/crazy ideas. I honestly trust my mother 100% on whatever she decides/wants to do for my shower... she is a GREAT party planner and I know that I will love whatever she decides to do.

I do, however, know that my FMIL would like to throw me a separate shower because FH's family lives out of state and it would be hard to get them all to NY for a shower. She is NOT as good in the surprise department... hence why I already know that she wants to throw a separate party! haha either way I will just appreciate whatever everyone can do for me... oh, and I BETTER look cute! hahaha

My mom wants it to be a surprise. I HATE surprises so my MOH will let me know which weekend it will be at least. I can't handle walking into a room full of women clapping without any notice.

I don't mind surprises but over time I've come to realize it might just be better if someone says 'your shower is this date' and ends it there. I don't want to know where or the details or anything, but surprises are too difficult!

If I have a shower, I won't know about it. I doubt it will happen though since we are having an engagement party instead.

I want it to be a surprise. Even if I didn't it would be. But I have a feeling someone will let I slip. My family has big mouths. But ill buy a dress and give it to my mom and sheshe'll bring it. I want that picture of me walking in looking like a slob. Its how it should be.

Mine is going to be a surprise, but I always have hunches anyway, lol. Either that or somebody sort of slips and I get an idea of what's going on.

I LOVE surprises! I am not involved in it, except that I said I wanted a tea party. I tend to micromanage so its a good thing I am not involved because a few months leading to the wedding I'll probably be so wrapped up in wedding stuff I couldnt handle any stress from the shower

It's pretty impossible to surprise me, and I already know it's going to be at my aunts brownstone in Brooklyn sooooo I can't see how they will surprise me now lol! I would have loved a surprise, but I'm always 10 steps ahead of people and everyone calls me Detective Alyssa, you have to get up prettyyyy early to fool me!

I do know about it and will be involved to some degree. Planning, favors, etc I will know about but my mom and sister (MOH) won't share every details such as games, etc.

I definitely want to know the date of it but that's it! No details about theme, location, guest list, etc. I'm a type-A personality and will get anxiety if I don't have any idea of what's going on!

I told them they can do whatever, I plan on buying a dress and giving it to one of my bridesmaids that way if it is a surprise I look nice.

I am not planning my shower, but I am going to be in on the place/date. I hate surprises, and I'd rather know when it is going to be so I can go shopping for a new dress, get my nails done, etc. My mom has been asking me about where I'd like to have it and stuff like that, and I just told my sister (MOH) that idc what games she does, but I just dont want to be dancing/singing/making a fool of myself in front of my FH's family lol... My cousin's MOH did really embarrassing games and she had to dance around the room, pretend she was a cowgirl and put a lasso around her MIL, and things like that she was SOO embarassed, but couldn't say no because that would look worse. It was rough to watch, and I was uncomfortable for her haha- Other than my one request, I won't know anything but the place and time

Well, my family and most of my BMs (and MOH) live outside the US, so if I even do have a shower, it is going to be very close to the wedding, and probably a low key backyard affair. Since everyone is scattered all over the world, I guess I will have to coordinate it myself.

They are coming all this way just for my big day, and I couldn't impose on them for a shower. I'd rather have a fun bachelorette party so that we can go out and catch up.

I would prefer it to be a surprise, my bridal party knows that, but if it does happen to slip I would be very happy as well. I'm very lucky to have a crafty FSIL and supportive bridal party that I don't have to worry about anything when it comes to decorations, favors etc. because I trust their judgment and they know my taste

My sister is planning my shower and has told me that I am not allowed to be involved at all but I hate surprises! She tells me she will let me know that day so I can know to dress up. She is joking it is going to be a patriotic themed shower since I am getting married on the 4th of July!
