~QOTD 6-15-10~~

My FH and I thought we decided on The Beatles, 'All You Need is Love' for our first dance (The Beatles mean so much to us).

Then one night as I was obsessing over my photog's blog I cam across a playlist that he loves. I found a Ray LaMontagne song that said it all! So I called FH and found out that it was one of his favs! We decided right then and there on our song!

We LOVE Elliott Smith .. and theres a song Between the Bars which could easily be referring to an alcoholic - but we love this song SO MUCH - and to us the meaning is something so different and SO US .. so after careful consideration about what others would think we said F IT ... we love it - we want it .. we're using it

It was painful; we're both music freaks and we couldn't decide for a long time.

Then we picked a song one day a few months back.

And we just changed it two weeks ago.

I love it.

I'll talk about my music list after the wedding.

we chose a Ray Lamontagne song also! back when we first started dating, my DH had some Ray on while we were just hanging out at his apt and it was just such a good night of talking and being comfortable with each other and i loved the music in the background. so we decided to have a Ray song as our first dance cause Ray reminds me of my DH!

Our song is Love of a Lifetime by Firehouse. When we first started dating - about 1 month into FH send me a beautiful e-mail and in it he said 'you are truely a Love of a Lifetime' Ever since we had always said that it was going to be our wedding song.

First of all it had to be Bon Jovi...since I am obsessed and FH has taken me to every concert they have had since we started dating (except for this year...BOO to wedding expenses!). Then I just had to narrow down the song. I, oops I mean we , decided on Thank You For Loving Me.

I always wanted to dance at my wedding to this one particular song of my fav singer. it goes 'I got to love......'
I always thought that being loved and getting to love was one of the biggest gifts a life has to give u
then when me and DH started dating I introduced him to my fav singer's things and he LOVED him (its an Israeli singer so DH really wanted to open his horizons to more Israeli artists)
eventho DH cares about music way more than I do he let me have this song as it was so important to me

It's been chosen since before we got engaged. After dating for 2 years, DH and I had gotten into a huge arguement and we took a 'break'. It didn't last very long- 3 weeks tops, but after we reconciled we moved in together! We heard 311's 'Love Song' and he told me that song described what he felt like... 'Whenever I'm alone with you, you make me feel like I am home again.' And he was.

I kinda picked it and he agreed on it! After a rough patch (with my health) I heard the song Sade-By Your Side on the radio. It just reminded me of how much he was there for me and how much I am there for him (he also has some health issues we have dealt with). I played it for him and he liked it, so thats what we picked!

Now...if you ask him the name of the song and who sings it...he will never be able to tell you in a million years......boys

We had a hard time with our wedding song- I had never really wanted a traditional slow song, so I had picked a Ray LaMontagne song because it said exactly how I felt. DH LOVES the song, but said he didn’t want it to be our first dance~Fine…Then we were going to have a song by Alicia Keys that he said he heard and he almost cried because it reminded him of us, but I wasn’t nuts about it.
Then, he had heard That how strong my love is by Otis Redding and played it for me and it was a wrap!!! It’s a very sexy song, and it’s a little embarrassing because my mother’s table was yelling “get a room” while we danced to it at the reception. Good times!!!

'After All' by Cher & Peter Cetera was our song because before DH & I were dating, we were best friends and we had an inside joke about the song and every time we'd get drunk, we'd always find this on the radio somehow and wind up singing really loud and bad to it lol. Not only that, but afterward we realized that the lyrics just fit us perfectly because while we were friends, we liked each other soo much but I was dating someone else and it became a back & forth thing until I finally left the guy for him and never looked back.. There's a lot of stuff I'm leaving out but we always said that it was meant to be, like the lyrics.
