My FH called it the 'Women's Lib' question. He was so adamant about me taking his last name. Growing up I had strong feelings about not doing this because I thought I was an Independant Woman! Now I realize, I'm probably one of the ONLY Carmela's that my clients and most of my friends know.

I CANNOT WAITTTTT TO CHANGE MY NAME!!!!!!!!!!

For very personal reasons but lets just say I hate my last name and Im the only one left with it so YAY - name change is on the top of my list!! I wish I could do it yesterday!

I love my family, but there are some crazy ones with the same last name as me that i dont like being associated with.

I am taking his last name. Truthfully I was bullied into taking my ex's last name, which I really didn't even get a chance to decide if I wanted to do or not. We are obviously now divorced but I kept his name since we have kids. But now that I am getting married again I feel that I should take FH's name since I took my ex's name. He swears he doesn't care what I do. Truth be told I really miss my maiden name.

I'm still very up in the air about using both of our last names and hyphenating or just using his last name! This is a very big decision!

i'm happy to be taking my FH's name :)

i have no problem with my last name, but there is something traditional and sweet about taking a new name when u get married....

i figure i spent the last almost 39 years with my last name, i'm excited to spend the next 39+ with his!

I will... I'm not racing to do it by any means but I'll definitely change it.

I'll be a little sad I guess because I like my Italian last name... his just doesn't have the same ring to it.

This is my most dreaded part of this whole process! I LOVE my last name. My dad had only girls, so we're the last ones with our last name. Its really hard to give up. FH doesn't care if I do or don't. However, I care. He has done sooooo much for me over the past 9 years that I want to change my name for him. Also, when we have children, I want us to all have the same last name. SO, I am gonna move my maiden name to my middle name and take his name as my last.

I might put it off for a month or 3 though

i used to always say I would NEVER change my name. I thought it was sexist, and i love my name...it's my identity...who i am...then I thought I'd keep my last name for work only (I'm a teacher).

Now, I cant wait to marry Dino and become a Michelli!!! I'm going to change it for work also.

Actually I still have some things (like my license I was too lazy to change it )in my ex's last name that I never changed- so I am looking foward to changing it all (I always hated my ex's name). But I do love my maiden name.
FH's last name isnt too bad so I dont mind.

I am changing my last name. It's important to me for when we have kids that we all have the same last name. If both names weren't so long, I'd consider hyphenating, but that's just way too much!

I was super excited to take DHs last name. I felt that it made us a family. I also feel that it is so important for DH & I to have the same last name as our future children.

I took DH's name. some things I already had put in that name before the wedding even.
I am still using my maiden name at work tho (I just added the new last name at the end of my email signature).
I hated that I needed to changed it at 1st, now I love the way my name sounds. very short and cool - ha!

oy....well i always planned on taking my husbands last name. However...I dont like DH's last name and its much longer/more complicated than mine. Soo a month and a half after our wedding I still havent changed it legally...I changed it on facebook so thats enough!

i will do it but im just not in a rush
