QOTD 6/17

Original post by flynn14

Thank you so much for making me BOTW! I'm excited to ask and her all your answers. I hope I don't repeat any questions!
So for the first question of the week:
Today is the first Monday that I don't have work since I am a teacher. What do you and you FH do for work? Are your work schedules similar/different?

Well I already stated I am a teacher and my FH used to be a teacher that's how we met! Recently though he choose to change careers and now he is in law enforcement. I loved when our schedules were the exact same now it took a little getting used to the switch of working days and nights. At least the way his schedule works he is off every other weekend so I love that!

Can't wait to hear all your answers this week!

I'm a medical biller/coder for an HIV clinic in Manhattan, and FH is a manager for FedEx. We have pretty much the same schedule so we're home together for dinner every night and we have our weekends together. He wears business casual (he's a manager - not a driver) but I think his FedEx polos and khakis are pretty sexy too :)

FH and I are both in education... unfortunately we have been in different districts so have not had the same breaks, days off etc. Luckily FH just landed a job in my district for the new year. Not only are we going to have the SAME schedule, but he is going to be a 4 min drive from me! We are both SO excited about this new change and cant wait for it to begin!! yay!!

FH works in plumbing and does specialization of heat installation and restauraunt vent work He works 8-5 M-F and picks up most Saturday..

I used to work as a server and loved it but the schedule was so opposite it wasn't good for us :( I know work in an office and I hate it.. I have 2 more years of college left and I want to become a teacher! Hoping I can change what I'm doing soon though, I really need movement and some fresh air in my environment.. it also doesn't help that I work with ONE yes ONE other person in an office the size of a closet. lol

I am a guidance counselor in a HS and my FH is an electrician. We have similar work schedules off on the weekends but he gets home later than me. I enjoy the time after school before my FH get's home for relaxing!

I am a graduate student in biomedical engineering, but the university pays me for doing research as a research scientist as well. FH works in special services admin for the Brentwood School district. Since I am a student, my timings are very flexible, and I try to match FH's 8am-3.30pm hours.

FH and I are very recent graduates (one month today) from grad school and are frantically looking for jobs currently. He is an elementary/special education teacher and I am a certified school counselor. He is actually currently in North Carolina for interviews because he is so passionate about being a teacher and there just aren't enough jobs for new people in NY anymore.

If you really want a teaching job tell your FH to check out charter schools. They are a lot of work and not in the best areas but a great way to start building your résumé. There are a ton in the 5 Boros. That is where I started granted I didn't love it by any means but it is because of that Job that I have my current Job in a private school on the upper west side.

I'm an office manager for a construction company in Dix Hills and FH is in law enforcement in the city. I work 8-5 and he's on overnights 11pm-7am. He only gets 3 weekends off out of every 10, so coordinating date night is a pain sometimes, but we make it work.

Congrats on being BOTW!

I'm a medical receptionist for a super busy surgical group and FH does ... project administrating for a company that deals with AAA and car dealerships. I call it a 'Chandler Bing' job. Everyone knows he goes to work but no one actually knows what he does...

We work pretty much the same hours. We're up at the same time (he wakes up before me... makes my coffee because he loves me SO much) and then he leaves about 15 minutes before me because he works more out east than I do. I get home usually like... 20-30 minutes before he does. He also works from home because he has his own business as well so when he gets home from his 9-5 job.. he works on his own business for pretty much the rest of the night. I love how much time we spend together :)

I'm a full time student going for education and psychology. I'm also a nanny so my schedule is all over the place. Starting in the fall, I'll be in class 8:00 or 9:30 to 12:20 or 1:50 M through Th, work 3 PM-7 PM M/T/Th, 10:30 AM-7 PM F, and 7/8 PM to whenever Sat nights. FH works in a factory so his schedule is set M-F 3 PM-11:30 PM but has a side job as a waiter that's usually 11 AM-10 PM on Sat and Sun and 11 AM-2:30 PM M/T/F.
Even though it would definitely be hard, I think it would be a lot easier on us if we lived near each other due to how different our schedules are. Unfortunately, I live in Long Island and he lives in what I lovingly call bumblef*** Ohio. We really only have time to talk to each other when he's on his way from one job to the next, during his breaks at both jobs, and after he gets home from working for the day (granted I'm still awake). Seeing each other is a whole other story- we have to ask for days off (without pay) and try to work around my breaks from school. Long story short, it really really really s**** and I can't wait until I'm living with him.

Crashing!
I am an office manager for a surgical dermatology Practice and FH works for Fedex. our schedules are always different. FH hrs depends on the weather and time of year. I have been working crazy hours and i'm usually in more than one office a day but we are normally both home by 6. The weekends are when we get our real time together and we normally want to site in the house lol
