*~*~QOTD 6/20/11~*~*

Hi Ladies!!! Happy Monday!!!

Thanks again to Kelley for picking me as the new BOTW! I hope you enjoy all of my questions and I can't wait to read all of your answers to them too!

Today's question is really 2 I guess but I tried to phrase it so that it was applicable to everyone:

Is there anyone who you are expected to invite to your wedding that you would rather not? OR Is there anyone who expects to be invited to your wedding that completely surprises you?

I'm expected to invite my my ex-boyfriend Can you say AWKWARD!!! The story behind this is that our families are really good friends, in fact our dads are best friends. So when we were in high school we started dating, it certainly made family get togethers interesting! He went off to college, we had a messy break-up, and when I was in college, we went for round 2, because I guess I didn't learn the first time. Needless to say, it didn't work out, but our parents have stayed really good friends regardless. So, there is the expectation that he will be invited along with the rest of his family....I just hope him and his wife are one of my 'no's.

There are a few relatives that are expected to be invited, and if it were up to me, I would burn the bridge and leave them off the list. Some people's comments/behavior speak volumes, and they dont deserve an invite in my eyes. Of course, my mother begs to differ. lol

So far, only 1 person (a friend of a friend) has made some comments about 'i hope I am invited' and other related statements when she sees pics on FB of me and my FH, or sees a status about my wedding. Odd, bc we arent friends directly and I dont know why she would want to be invited and have to give a gift. *shrug*

One guy that neither me or FH has ever been good friends with, wrote on my fb wall 'keep me updated with a wedding date'

I honestly wish I didn't have to invite my friend and her dirtbag husband (my god daughters parents) because at this point if that kid wasnt around I would tell them to f*** off!

So far at least, this hasn't really been an issue, but as we are trying to cut down the guest list it is getting more difficult. My FH thinks that since we are inviting his neighbors who his mom is friends with, we need to invite their daughter and her bf since FH used to be friends with her, however, I haven't once met her in the 6 1/2 years FH and I have been together.

I actually didn't sleep last night becuase of this question exactly.......becuase I know that this stuff can be searched I am not going into detail, but if anyone has an idea to maybe deal with this PLEASE FM Me!!!! We need help.......

we have two people that need to be invited. One of those people is saying that she isn't going if the other person is going.....the person that is saying she won't attend NEEDS to be there, but if we ask the other person not to attend then another importatnt person will be upset and not attend.....

I know this is probably kind of silly to not go into detail, but I think it would start even more drama if it was searched and found........

But it is STRESSING FH and I out!!!!

I am expected to invite my grandfather's brother and his kids. I do not dislike them but I just do not have a relationship with them. I would rather use the 10 people on people I have relationships with.

My dad's girlfriend....wow would I love to cross her off the list- she is insane & I know my dad is going to try & make it so she's part of the day....& I think some of my aunt's who I'm not that close with expect their kids to be invited....but they're not!

I'm expected to invite my mother's friends daughter just because her parents are invited. Ever since my brother, sister & I were younger, we were practically forced to have play dates with this girl. She's beyond weird and since I refuse to subject FH or my friends to her, I'm sitting her with her parents.

I don't really have any qualms with my actual guestlist luckily!

Though I've had some interesting stories about people wanting to come.

Such as my Uncle's (by marriage) mother??

And an acquitance (not friend) from high school randomly called me during work one day and said 'Hi, it's Regina!' as if I even knew who that was and started asking me about planning and when the big day was.

Who does that?!?

We are paying for every little penny, so we don't care who expects us to invite anyone. There's this one $cumbag that FH and I were friends with. We also know his wife. She got pregnant. He was 21, they got married. Now he's having sex with anything with a pulse and I heard she's pregnant again. REALLY??? Poor kids. Ugh, people are so selfish and it's disgusting. FH is still friendly with him, I wanna castrate him. He's not invited. Who knows if he knows. He's had sex with other people who will be there. Just too awkward. Sorry, no drama at my wedding! I told James that inviting him would be like inviting the devil to heaven. You have no values for yourself, your family, or marriage... get lost!

We have a pretty exclusive guest list and all parties knew that going in so we haven't been 'expected' to invite anyone that we didn't want to.

As far as people inviting themselves, I have a 'friend' who I used to be closer with in HS that I see now and then and I was talking about my wedding in front of him and his gf and she passed a comment about being exciting for the wedding and cant wait to attend.

Um...no you're no invited. Guess she'll find out next year :p

There are these two skanky newly out of their teen girls that think they are coming to the wedding. Not with they way they dress!

I do NOT want to invite my aunt and my cousin. We are not close and she gets drunk and angry and my cousin is an idiot. BUT my MOH (her daughter/my cousin) is goign to want her mother there.

Randomly my cousin (the MOH)'s EX MIL wanted to be invited. UMM she's not wiht your son anymore. BUt she did used to babysit me when I was a kid so I see why she'd want to be there but...still....weird.
