For those of us who have said yes to our dresses: Is your dress what you always pictured yourself in or is it something completely different?
And for those of us who havent said yes: What is your 'vision' for your dress and do you think you will stick to it???
Have a great day everyone!!!

Okay - what I envision:
I really wanted something figure flattering, and in the first round of dress shopping - found out a drop waist with corset was the best shape on me, surprisingly.
If I looks good - I ideally want a really romantic dress with a corset top, either beaded or detailed lace, with a flowing A-line skirt. I don't really see myself in a gown with a lot of pick-ups as I'm short, and don't need to drown
We've got a romantic, some hints medieval, something whimsical nerdy wedding going on with the theme 'Love is an adventure' So I want a little bit of princess look, but not the full blown Disney.
Any help is welcome.. cause i'm clueless...

Since I am not as big as I was before I wanted something form fitting to show off my figure. However, my dress is a big princess ball gown and I love it. So I might be getting a second dress that is more form fitting.

I had always said I wanted a lace dress, but when I started looking I found beautiful dresses with rouched (spell?) tops and full skirts, so that's what I started trying on. I hated the way I looked in them, and tried on a fit and flair lace dress that I fell in love with and said YES to!

I always wanted a lace A-line. I thought I wanted sleeves, but they all looked a little awkward on me. But I did get my lace A-line!

To be honest, I have never pictured myself in a wedding dress. I’m short and I was afraid that I would look like a short, fluffy, snow beast drowning in white satin. I stayed away from ball gowns & mermaid dresses! My dress (pics in my album) is a fit and flare and I always thought that style wouldn’t look good on me, but I was wrong! I’m so happy I stepped out of my comfort level and tried something a little more form fitting. I love my dress and I know FH will love it as well.

Oh the dress drama...when i started i wanted an a line satin beaded top and train. that quickly changed when i found Westbury Manor and I decided I wanted to go more vintage in style... enter $7000 discountinued dress... and so started the Aline lace beaded hunt. I could not find a A line that A-ed at my hip and flowed. I traveled outside my comfort zome after shopping at every store on Long Island and visiting some several times and ended up with a satin gown w a simple sweatheart neckline and a beaded belt. The dress has pockets too! I am in love with it and am done shopping. It is timeless romance. I

I have not started dress shopping yet but all the dresses I love are fitted on top and have drama on the bottom.. ruffles, etc and some bling. I will be open to trying on all types of dresses when I start shopping but I think I will end up sticking to what has been catching my eye. We will see...

I always pictured myself in a corset, princess dress with tons of beading and rouching. Cut to when I went dress shopping and HATED the way those dresses looked on me. I went with something totally different!
When I walked into the dress stores I KNEW that I needed to try on different styles because although I knew what I liked, I wasn't sure the styles I had in mind would look good on me....and they DIDNT! I went with a lace dress instead and am in LOVE <3
