In honor of my day off, which will be spent painting, here's a house or apt related question.
Where are you planning to live after you're married? House, apt building, apt in a house etc.
Where do you live now? With FH? At home etc.
And what is your vision of that place?

We're living here in this house for another few years until we can move closer to our families in Nassau county.
This house is in my name. I actually moved here w my ex husband and basically foreclosed on his loser ***. Lol
My vision of this house has always been like the magazine better homes and gardens w an amazing garden and us throwing wonderful parties. Yet...its a work in progress. My kitchen isnt finished...its been 3 years. My yard is a jungle and now bc of the new cesspool i have dirt and no lawn in the back bottom part of the yard. Sigh.

We are going to be living in the apartment we are in now. It is downstairs from my parents but we have our own seperate entrance. It is really nice because we are right on a lake. It has a beautiful view.
I really would love to have my own home soon though. I want an L-shape ranch all light colors with all earth colors!! I love that type of look- but who knows what we will be able to afford!!

Me and FH currently live in his studio apartment in Staten Island. You can imagine it is a tight squeeze! But we just signed on a new one bedroom apartment in an apartment building here in Staten Island, right by the mall. We are sooo excited!
For our new place, I have a walk-in closet and laundry in the apartment, and a big kitchen to lay out all our gifts from our registry. We just put down a deposit on a queen-sized bed and we will get a pretty bed frame for it also!
After we're married we will probably live there for a while until we have enough money for either a townhouse or a house.

FH& I bought our starter home 2 years ago; so that's where we'll be living after we get married for a LONG time LOL!

Right now FH and I are both living with our parents but we are in the process of buying a co-op (we've been in contract since March )
The co-op is a two bedroom so it's big enough for us and one child, but once it's time for a second we want to buy a house. Hopefully in like 5 years.
My dream house has a big backyard and a fireplace

Right now FH and I live with our parents. But on September 1st, we'll be moving into our house in Northport village. I'm soooo excited!!! We plan on staying there for a while. I want to stay in Northport, so I'd like to save money for a couple of years and possibly buy a bigger house there.

FH & I live together. FH bought his house before I met him, and I was living in an apt I had just bought when I met him as well. I am now renting out my apt and have moved in with him but as it stands, I want him to sell the house so we can buy a bigger house together.
Right now, we are getting by with a 2 bedroom home and a 1/2 finished basement. He has as much junk as I do and I really want'/need more closet space. Plus, I want to move to a more central location in Nassau (ie Westbury, Roslyn, Garden City, Carle Place, Albertson, etc) so I have an easier commute to work.

FH bought a house 3 months before we met in nesconset.. I was living in westchester with my parents. I basically live with FH as i am there 5 days a week. I try to go home to my parents 2 days during the week to see my family & friends, and save some gas money! I still work in westchester. As far as the house itself, Its too small for us and a baby. 2 bedrooms but only 1 bathroom. I want to move into a bigger house (obviously) but also one closer to my family and job. FH works in westbury and that is the area i want to live in. If we move near westbury, it will eliminate his commute and cut mine in half.
FH doesnt want to live in nassau because he says you get much more for your money in suffolk. This is our biggest fight. LOL i understand that he cant sell the house now because he will lose money, but I wish i could find a nice area with low taxes in nassau for our future so i could back up my dreams!!

I owned my own home and FH owned his own home when we met. His house is much bigger than mine and perfect for raising a family. Someplace we can live til retirement. So I have a friend renting my house (til the market improves) and I moved myself and the dog into his.
The house is pretty much done. Its cozy but contemporary. We want to gut the kitchen and re-vamp and plan on doing that next year sometime.

Currently I still live at home. FH has an apartment in a house but I have been staying there more and more.
We are looking into co-op's or condo's in queens since FH is out of work right now so i would have to carry the mortgage by myself.
Hopefully we won't have to stay there long and will be able to afford a house in a few years.

Right now I live at home with my parents and same for FH but we did buy a house 2 years ago as an investment together and we rent it When we get married we plan to move into it =)

Right now FH and I do not live together, but we plan on moving in together prior to the wedding. The problem is FH works all the way in Yonkers and has to cross the throgs neck both times if we live in LI and that is alot of money wasted a month. I don't have a job right now, so I feel it is the best time to move to somewhere new, so we are looking at CT. It would only be 1/2 hour away from FHs job at Consumer Reports and I could find something in CT. The prices are great there and the taxes are low, so maybe a condo. I love stew leonards too, so that is a plus!!!!! Hopefully, the settlement money will help us out a bit.

Currently FH and I live in a 3 bedroom apartment above my parents...Not the ideal situation, FH isn't too thrilled about it sometimes. But it allows us to save money and my mother and father help out with our son a lot, so for now it works. Eventually we would like to have our own house, somewhere in Nassau or Suffolk, preferably with a nice backyard.

FH and I will most likely live where we are now (apartment in a 3 family house) for another year (maybe a little more) after the wedding while we save/look for a house.
And what is your vision of that place?
I would really love to have a house that is either detached or semi-detach in Queens with a backyard (doesn't have to be a huge backyard - big enough to have some BBQs). And FH and I have already decided that as soon as we do get home we are getting a dog!

Right now we live together in an apt in Philly. After we get married, we'll live here for another 6 months while FH finishes up school, then we'll most likely be moving to whereever he decides to do his residency (hopefully heading back to NY!!!) I don't really have much of a vision for that place - hopefully we'll buy a condo or something, stay there til he finishes residency, then get a home & then the fun of decorating will begin!! The only thing I'm really hoping for is a huge and at least decent-looking kitchen so I can cook and bake like crazy!
