Someone told us when we got engaged to never go to bed angry, you just wake up more mad the next day (which in our case is SO true). We've been sticking by this, even if we have to be up at 5AM for work, we are on the phone or sitting on the couch talking until 3AM to solve the problem. It was the best advice so far!
this is actually the same advice my mom gave me and i think its awesome advice!!!

ummmm.........well just last my dad told us that we should always be one anothers best friend. ITA w/him and FH & I talked about it all the way home. I also love the advice my step-mom gave to us once we got engaged, she said that we should always make special time for one another, even when kids come along. She said its important that we always stay in touch w/ourselves and each other.

To take care of each other... maintain open communication. It takes hard work to keep things strong and interesting so we try to keep it fresh and 'date' each other often. I think something else that is important is to have 'Me' time.

I was told to that it's okay to disagree on many things but always agree to hug and kiss everyday.
