QOTD 6/6/08

Good Morning girls! HAPPY FRIDAY!!! HOORAY the weekend is just within our reach! I hope you are all ready for this hot weekend! Let's Beach it up!

So today's question ties in with the Beach...my question is when you go to the beach or pool this summer and are surrounded by either sand and saltwater or chlorine and sun screen to you plan on wearing your engagement ring??

I encountered this issue last week when we went our Apartment Complex Brand new pool! I wore my ering and everyone was like why are you wearing that in the pool???? I guess I hadn't really thought about that. I guess the chemicals could harm it. Not to mention all the tanning oil or sunscreen I was putting on getting in between the diamonds. But I went home and cleaned by ring and it was no problem. What do you girls think we should do??

My answer is I think I will end up leaving it home although i really don't want to. Better safe than sorry!

I definately would not be taking it to the pool or beach. I do not even like to shower with my ring on. One of my co-worker wore her ring when she went to beach and lost it in the ocean.

If I'm going to the beach I will probably leave it home... I'd be afraid of dropping it in the water or something!

I will leave it at home. I'm not afraid of losing it b/c it can't fall off since my fingers swell in the heat. I just never wear jewelry to the beach.

I think this is a really good question since most people probably haven't thought about it!

My stone is an aquamarine which I have read is sensitive to bright lights and harsh chemicals. Overtime the stone can fade. Since I plan on wearing the ring until I die, I'm going to leave it at home when I do beach/pool activities.

I think I will leave it at home too. I'd be sooo upset if I lost it in the pool or ocean.

I don't wear it to the pool or the ocean -- I don't even wear it to the gym, I don't want to damage it.

I was just in the caribbean and I wore my engagement ring the whole time. I put sunscreen on with my ring on, I went swimming with my ring on...its still nice and shiney after I cleaned it!

Well this actually happened to me in Mexico. Family we had not seen from Cali/Chicago met us there & wanted to see it so i brought it. Yes i went into the pool with it & mine is fine as well. I did take it off while applying sunscreen etc. But put it right back on! I dotn think its that bad once ina whilei think the chlorine is a good cleaner! lol lol lol lol It was really shiny after.

**So then what is everyone doing for their hm's? I mean you will be swimmingthere & iwont leave my ring in a safe i dont trust those at all!

I haven't really thought about it. But I did wear it at the beach, pool and while swimming and sunbathing when we were in Hawaii, so I probably wont' leave it at home.
