Well this actually happened to me in Mexico. Family we had not seen from Cali/Chicago met us there & wanted to see it so i brought it. Yes i went into the pool with it & mine is fine as well. I did take it off while applying sunscreen etc. But put it right back on! I dotn think its that bad once ina whilei think the chlorine is a good cleaner! lol lol lol lol It was really shiny after.
**So then what is everyone doing for their hm's? I mean you will be swimmingthere & iwont leave my ring in a safe i dont trust those at all!
Good thought. I think I am gonna leave mine on during the entire honeymoon! I think it's safest on me in that situation.

A ring should not ever really be damaged by just being subjected to environmental elements ....although I would not scrub something with a harsh cleaner with it on..
I would leave it home more out of fear of losing it...The ocean can do weird things lol...at least in a pool you can get it from the bottom...God forbid..

I wouldn't wear it to the beach or in the pool. I'm too nervous I would loose it or something. I heard that your finger can shrink when your in the pool if its cold and I would be affraid it would fall off.

I would leave it home. Someone my mom knows went to the beach with her ring and the diamond fell out.

Thats a good question..I was wondering actually just thinking about this..
I always leave my jewelery home when I go to the beach, but I know FH is giving me my ering on vacation next week..I'm scared of losing it in the ocean but also worried about leaving it in the security box...I know I won't want to take it off so I'm not sure what I'm going to do...

Definitely leave it home - I'd be too afraid to lose it. I don't wear it when I'm in the shower or when I'm doing dishes. Nervous Nelly! I even get nervous (even though I know it won't happen!) when I go to the bathroom that it'll slip off and fall into the toliet!!

Being that everytime I go to the beach, I manage to lose something, especially sunglasses, I would def. leave my ring home lol.
As far as the pool, I'm afraid the chlorine might harm it, so I guess I would leave it home for that too.

Re: QOTD 6/6/08
I read a post on here not too long ago (don't remember which board) and people were talking about buying a CZ ring from Claire's or someplace like that to wear while on vacation, etc. I am really liking that idea! So I may try to find a cheapie that I could wear during risky outtings such as the beach and amusement parks.

i rarely take my ring off. i'm leaving it home when we go to europe bc i hear it's crawling w/ thieves, and i don't want to give them any sparkling incentive to target me.
on the other hand, you girls have me paranoid about the beach...

My ring stays home. Even when we go away. I'm not risking it with the water, and even in another country. There's no need to wear it IMO

Also, if you have insurance, theres no ned to worry really... sure you wouldnmty want anything to happen to it, but then why are you paying $$$ a year for loss/theft?

i think i might actually go to claires and get a cheapie cz ring for outings. My finger seems so bare without a ring but id hate to lose mine since its irreplacable.
