Hi girls! Thank you Jeanmarie (JBC12510) for making me the BOTW!

Here's my first QOTD:

After all the posting when I asked what an appropriate gift was for an engagement party, it had me thinking about gifts Ive been receiving and have received in the past .. My question is:

What is the strangest gift you ever received? Wedding related or not ..

I used to be a teacher's assistant for autistic children. I would do home schooling as well for two kids (a brother and sister). I would go to their house two-three times a week for a few hours. The parents and I naturally became very close.

One day I went to their house (it was my birthday) and they gave me a gift. I was so surprised and kept thinking how thoughtful it was. They kept saying open it now, open it now .. so I did.

RED LACE PANTIES (wait it gets worse)!! I couldn't believe my eyes. So I take them out and I'm just blankly staring at them and the dad says 'Arent they great? They're CROTCHLESS!!!!'

UM. WHAT?!

It wasnt long after that I stopped working there. I was too creeped out picturing this couple actually going to a store together and picking out crotchless panties for their childrens teacher. WEIRD.

that's hilarious but totally weird!

i once got a stuffed animal lobster from a friend after her trip to Maine (we were 15-ish at the time so it was ok) ... i thanked her and said he was cute (he was) ... the next year, she went back to Maine for another family trip and bought me .... The same freakin' stuffed animal lobster!!!

Me: 'oh, he matches the one you got me last year '
Her: 'yeah well, you said you liked it last year so i knew you'd like it this year too!'

I had the same job once before but it was for my cousin... if I got that gift it would have been REALLY weird

This wasn't a gift but FMIL was cleaning once and must have found an old package of maxi pads. She says to me, 'Do you want them? I don't need them anymore.'

I'm like, 'Ohh... umm, no, I don't use those.'

OMG for my 26th birthday I received a Baby's Milestone Hanging picture frame (its huge with like 6 dangling photo frames for all of your baby's firsts). This would have been a cute gift...IF I ACTUALLY HAD A FRIGGIN BABY!!!!!! UHM HELLO?!

My FSIL totally regifted that one. She had a baby that year and probably didn't want it. She told me I can save it for when I have mine. However, when Omar and I were trying and couldn't get pregnant, all I could do was think of this damn frame sitting in my closet like a jinx!!!!! So, I moved it to our storage unit and I wont take it out until we have one!
