QOTD 6/9/09

During the week someone had asked about what your something borrowed was going to be... and it got me thinking...

What will be your something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue?

My something old, I am going to wear an antique ring of my mother's, it belonged to her mother and before that my grandmother's great aunt. I am actually very excited to get to wear it.

I figured something new was easy... my dress, my shoes, anything else I happen to be wearing that day... and I have dropped the hint with FH that there is this gorgeous diamond bracelet at the store where he bought my engagement ring so fingers crossed!!!

For something borrowed I am going to try and use one ofmy BM's slips from her wedding. I just have to work on getting myself down to a size 6. Lord help me,

Something blue is going to be tricky... I was going to wear blue shoes but I don't think they're going to look right with an ivory dress (white looks awful on me) plus my bridesmaids are wearing plum(eggplant) and champagne... so I am at a loss!! Then I thought maybe I would wear a blue garter even though I'm not doing a garter toss... but that seems unoriginal... blue undergarments? Is that too risky or with the layers and layers of fabric will you not even notice?

Can't wait to hear what you girls come up with!!!!

well, i have not really thought too much about this and my answers may change w time...but for now....

old - grandmother's cross. thinking of using it as a charm on my bridal bo-k.
new - everything! lol. but probably my shoes and my undergarments - cuz i dont think i will wear them b4 the wedding...but i will probably wear them after!
borrowed - hmm...not sure..i guess it depends what i need...
blue - maybe garter...or maybe get those 'I DO' rhinestones to put on the bottom of my shoes??

hmm:

something old: i am going to carry a handkerchief that was my grandmothers
something new: mostly everything!
something borrowed: not sure
something blue: getting a penn state garter and/or putting a personalized dress label in my gown with blue writing

hmmm something old i am unsure of yet
something new will be my dress
something borrowed i'm thinking of borrowing my MOH's necklace from her wedding
something blue will be my garter...it will be buffalo bills

Old: My mom saved my bonnet from when I was christened and it can be untied and turned into a handkerchief

New: dress, shoes, jewelry

Borrowed: FMIL's garter, one of my BM's slips

Blue: FMIL's garter

Old -- My ering is FH's grandma's.
New -- I bought earrings a year ago and have been saving them for my wedding (I wasn't engaged yet...haha)
Borrowed -- I want to borrow the hairpin my sister wore at her wedding
Blue -- My colors are royal blue and silver...I'm getting my shoes dyed to match my girls' dresses! They're going to wear silver shoes and I'm going to wear royal blue shoes!

something old: the diamonds in my wedding band, they are my grandmothers

something new: my dress

something blue: my garter

something borrowed: ???

I'm having trouble here too..

Old: Not sure; thinking of incorporating something to honor both of my grandmas that passed away...maybe someone in the family has a locket I could wear?

New: Easy; dress, shoes, veil.

Borrowed: Hoping that I can incorporate 'old' and 'borrowed' together...

Blue: I'm thinking of those 'I Do' blue crystals to stick in the bottom of my shoes, in the arch of them.

Obviously I'm clueless in this area...

Old - no clue
Borrowed - no clue (for old and borrowed I may borrow some kind of jewlery from my mother...old and borrowed all at once!!)
New - dress, shoes
Blue - going to try to get it on my garter, if not I will sew a little blue bow into the lining of the dress

new: my dress & shoes

borrowed: i think something from my sister (MOH), she has these saint medallions that she wears for special occasions. they are on a safety pin & i was thinking of pinning them inside my dress.

blue: i am having a label made for my dress (the stitching will be blue)

old: attached to the label will be small pieces from my mom & FMIL wedding dresses

i have no idea. i have a bunch of new shtt but nothing old, borrowed or blue!

Something Old: I will be pinning a brooch from my grandmother onto the stem-wrapping of my bo-k

Something New: My dress! Etc. Etc.

Something Borrowed: My mom's veil (praying it will match my dress because I am in LOVE) and/or my sister's slip

Something Blue: Don't know yet! I too wanted to wear blue shoes but my mother and FH almost had a heart attack when I mentioned this. I think I may use blue rhinestones and write something on the bottom of my shoe.

old- is a bracelet FH gave me right after we started dating
new-dress
borrowed- is my great grandmothers earrings which I am borrowing from my mom
blue- I have no idea

Something Borrowed-the free earring rental that I won from Adorn Brides

Something new-My dress

Something blue-hopefully my shoes

I am not up to this yet. . . . . but here are my thoughts

Something Borrowed: I am borrowing my grandmas ring from my sister
Something Blue: no clue -
Something Old:my grandmas engagement ring for my right hand
Something New: the dress

something old - umm.. i dunno
something new - the dress.. duh
something borrowed - i dunno
something blue - by dad's baby bracelet in my bo-k

I love the I DO rhinestones....is this a DIY project? or do they sell these somewhere?

new -my dress and shoesand I need to get pearl earrings (hoping FH will get them)
Old/borrowed- will be a pearl necklace that was my aunts and when she passed my sister got it SO it will also be my something borrowed
Blue- I will get a blue garter

old - vintage brooch on my boquet
new - everything else lol
borrowed - no idea
blue - blue label with wedding date stitched into my dress

New: Dress

Old: (hopefully) turning my moms veil into my veil

Borrowed: No idea.

Blue: Saphire and diamond earrings (that I do not own yet and have yet to find ones that I like)
