Thank you MrandMRsP for choosing me as the new BOTW!! I am so excited, but I'm not going to lie, it kind of stressed me out last night, thinking of a QOTD!!
So here it is...
We are all engaged and I'm sure many of us have read the read last week about how everyone's FH's proposed.
So my question is, was there a time when you absolutely thought your FH was going to pop the question, and he didn't?
My answer:
For me, I thought FH was going to propose basically every weekend from October- December. One time specifically, I was driving home from work, and FH called about 3 times asking where I was and how much longer I'd be. In my head I thought.. this is it.. I convinced myself I was going to come home to flowers and candles and he was going to ask me to marry him. Well when i got home, there were flowers, and he was cooking dinner, but that was it. Still a romantic night, but no proposal. It killed me.. so eventually I had to try and forget about it and just tell myself it'll happen, just leave it alone.

For me it was almost the same thing the entire summer of 09 I thought I was getting my ring every weekend
At one point we were 'invited' he tells me to his friend from work's house for dinner. I got dressed and we start driving on Sunrise passing all these great resturants. He is driving and driving...making rights and lefts etc Finally we pull up infront of a house and I had such a sad face on FH asked what was wrong when I told him he started laughing called me cute kissed me and then said now get out of the car I am hungry

Not me. My FH had me so thrown off I had no idea he was going to pop the question. The way he was acting was that it wasn't coming for years! I was beyond shocked.

For me, it was pretty much every holiday in 2009. He kept bringing up the talk of marriage, kids, where we are going to live right around each major holiday, and as it passed, I got more and more disappointed. We would go away to AC practically every other weekend in the summer bc he would get comp'd free suites, so then I was sure it would happen then, but it didn't. When he said he booked us a trip to Disney World, then I knew it HAD to be bc he knew how much I always wanted to get asked their- just not at the castle, and sure enough the first night we were there he popped the question

This is SUCH a great question! Haha... Well be totally honest we've been doing things a little differently than most. We know we are getting married because we've talked about it and even booked a few things, but he hasn't exactly asked me yet...
So that being said... I wake up every morning thinking: TODAYS THE DAY!!!
But because I do that he won't ask Well, it's more like he says he still wants it to be perfect and does not want me to feel jipped out of a proper proposal, but i seriously think it's going to happen every second of the day and it's driving me a little crazy haha
I know it's happening because everyone in our families know, and like I said we have a few things booked already, it just hasn't been made official with a ring/proposal yet :)

I knew he was going to propose around the time that he did, the thing is, my FH is terrible at keeping secrets! I have known what my gift is for every birthday/christmas/anniversary we've ever had! So I thought he would definetly blow the surprise before he proposed but I was soo wrong. He shocked the hell outta me and I am sooo happy he pulled it off!!!!!

I am a moron, but we had only been dating 3 months, and I was convinced he was going to do it on my b-day. When that didn't happen, I was convinced he would do it at the one year mark. Which I was wrong again, because he did it the day before our one year mark.
Recently I told him I though he was going to do it around my b-day, and he actually said he though about it because he knew I was the one, but was so scared of scaring me off, he decided to wait, which I am glad he did anyway.

i had a feeling that FH was going to propose the day that he did but at a different point during the day. before that, I thought he was going to propose on our trip to Jamaica but he actually gave me a heads up saying he WON'T be proposing and he's telling me this so I won't be expecting a proposal daily while on vacation and be crushed. I'm glad he waited til we were home so that our families could celebrate with us

Well for me this was more then once. He came home on leave in August and I thought this was going to be it. I was wrong. Then he came home in mid-December and I was like okay I know it's coming so I pretty much thought everyday from December 13th to the day it happened,December 20th, that it was going to happen.

FH and I had agreed we'd wait a year after we closed our house to get engaged. I really, REALLY believed it.
I even told my mom to stop getting her hopes up because it wasn't going to happen! She was driving me nuts!
So when he proposed a year earlier than planned, I was completely shocked.

I thought i was going to get proposed to every holiday and vacation since 2007 especially when we were in Disney world during the fireworks shows, and even more so when i went away in 08 for my 25 birthday we went to Vegas , i was positive he was going to do it then because he knew how upset i was to turn 25 . we even took a romantic gondola ride at the Venetian !

My FH was completely obsessive w me in the beginning. I sorta liked the attention but it really freaked me out. a few months into our relationship (we had been friends with him being sort of a stalker for like a year before) we went away for a weekend to Mohonk. He stopped me at one of the million gazebos and had a speech prepared about how much he loved me etc and handed me a small box.
I panicked. And I mean panicked. i refused to open it and almost hyperventilated. Finally he said, Ames it's not a ring, please open it. I did and it was a gorgeous pair of earrings.
LOL. anyway that was like 8 years ago!

Not at all actually LOL. We had talked about getting married a lot so I knew it was going to be sometime last year that he would ask, but I really thought it was going to be on the cruise we took last May with his family. He threw me a curveball and asked me 3 weeks earlier

Because I moved 500 miles to keep the relationship going, I told FH before moving to NYC that I was not moving down here unless this was the real deal. So, after I moved here- every holiday I hoped. After 4 years, we booked a trip to Disney World and the night before he told me point blank he had thought about proposing on the trip, but his family didn't think the time was right....I was devastated. After that, I didn't think it was coming at all, and actually started looking at apartments to move out. SIX DAYS before my move-out date, I cam home to flower petals and a ring!

We went to Hawaii in April 09 for a wedding. I was CONVINCED he'd propose. We got there on Saturday, wedding was on Tuesday, so he had the rest of the week to propose to me!!! We even stopped in LA on the way back so he could do it during our own mini non-wedding related vacation. I was 100% convinced he was going to propose that week and when I realized he wasn't, I started getting irritated! ahhaha. I'm glad he didn't, but still! Glad he waited to do it at a place I know well and love.

There were soo many times that I thought my FH was going to propose and I was crushed every time it didn't happen. but when it came down to him getting the ring, he needed me to speak the the jeweler several times to let them know exactly what i wanted and they accidentally called to let me know that the ring was delivered (we were living in an unfamiliar area of western PA at the time so we got the ring made at a jeweler that my family has used many times). so i knew he had it and the day he proposed knew he was going to- but he doesn't know that- i told him i was surprised

My birthday in April 2009.. We had been discussing seriously that we wanted to get married from Jan 09 on, and so I knew it could happen at anytime.. So on my 25th birthday I'm in his room and he hands me a bag with a box in it and its a ring box and I started flipping out in my head thinking 'I'm not ready I'm not ready'... and then opened it and it was a pretty B&W diamond ring in the shape of a bow that I had wanted... It was crazy and I realized I needed a little more time after that!
Then around Sept-Dec I pretty much thoght it was everytime we went to dinner or did anything lol.

I thought i was going to happen the first christmas that we moved in together. He is all about Christmas and we were opening all the presents and im a big kid i hate the last present i want to open more. So he has a habit of hiding stuff and then coming out with it later. SO he comes out of the bedroom with a box and tells me there is one more gift. Now the box is a small box so im like OMG this is it. I was soo excited i opened the box to find diamond earrings. I was pissed but didn't want to look like a spoiled brat- he could see it all in my face. So im like u idiot i thought u were proposing...The earrings are gorgeous though!! lol It was perfect when he did bc he did it the day after 4th of July- my parents were away and due to come back juLY 5TH. He wanted to propose on the 4th of July but didn't want to bc my parents weren't around. I thought every holiday it was going to happen and i knew he wouldnt bc he wanted it to be a surprise!!!

I have NO idea when it was going to happen, FH and I had talked about getting married, and i knew i was going to marry him no matter but, but he had me so shocked when he popped the questions..i was completely blindsided and had no clue.

actually no. i had a clue he might propose when he did, but i didn't think it was going to happen any sooner than it did.
