So I'm just wondering how many of you are keeping things traditional and taking on your fh's last name once you are married, keeping your own name or another option?
I can't wait to take on my fh's last name. I tease him all the time and tell him it's only because it's moving me up in the alphabet from W to L. The truth is that I am honored to take his last name as his wife.

My fh and i are very traditional-i'm pretty sure he never would have married someone who wouldn't take his last name, but i would also never marry someone and not take their last name, so it works
But many, many aspects of our relationship fall into traditional gender roles

I changed to his last name. It's so much easier than my maiden name, lol! Plus I didn't want to have to decide which name our kids will have

I am excited and proud to take his last name. He was fine with me not taking it because he knows I love my last name, I am proud of it and my dad has no sons to carry on the name. But I want his last name, I am just keeping my last name and incorporating it into my middle name...so now I will have my first name, 2 middle names and my new last name. It's my way of keeping my name and still having his last name without a hyphen (which I hate, haha)

I struggled regarding giving up my maiden name (it is way too long to hyphenate) but I have finally chosen to take his name. I am looking forward to it. I feel like it will officially make us a family.

When I first brought up this conversation with my FH, saying that I wasn't sure what I was going to do, he looked at me like I had two heads! He then made it clear how important it was to him that I take his last name (he's much more traditional than I am), so that made up my mind for me. Besides, now I'll go from the last fourth of the alphabet to the first!
