Good Afternoon Ladies... hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!!

So today's question is:
What are some wedding related horror stories you've heard that make you nervous for your big day?

I have two stories... one makes me nervous for a similar incident to occur at my wedding, the other is just crazy! The first one was when I was doing makeup for one of my bridal clients. She was from NJ and was getting married on Long Island, so we were getting her ready in a hotel, far away from home. Mid-way through the process the bride's father walked in the room and very calmly told the bride that his vest was missing. She took the news pretty well and immediately called FSIL (who was from the area) and they ran to a Men's Warehouse nearby and were able to get him something quickly. My FH and his family will be coming from CT for the wedding in NY and I am PRAYING that everyone remembers everything!!!

The other story was told to me by a friend who attended a wedding with an outdoor ceremony on this beautiful grassy lawn. Mid-way through the ceremony the SPRINKLER SYSTEM TURNED ON!!!!!! No joke! All of the GM ran around the bride, huddled her and shimmied her over to safety without ruining her dress. Apparently the sprinkler system was on a timer and someone forgot to change the time for this particular day! I can't even imagine!!!

Hmm. I haven't heard many horror stories thankfully but my cousins wedding ran late and I know that is a common thing and timing has been my BIGGEST concern so I am totally stressing that we aren't going to have enough time for photos and what not. I am hoping that as long as I set a really strict timeline we can make it happen!

Also, I want snow for our wedding but I am afraid we will have a blizzard and that will just mess up everything! Praying we just have a nice amount of snow so everything will be gorgeous but not deter any guests or US from getting married.

I haven't heard many wedding horror stories, but there are two things that really worry me. First, my FH and his whole side including all of the GM are coming in from Ohio. What if there's another hurricane/tropical storm and FH can't get on a plane or drive here even if it's in PA and doesn't hit LI or worse yet what if there's another hurricane/tropical storm and the whole wedding has to be cancelled/moved? We're having it in August so that's a huge fear considering Sandy and Irene.
Also, this may sound silly but at one of my BM's wedding, when it got time for the DJ to announce the bride's father and the bride for their father/daughter dance, he was off having a conversation on the other side of their house (it was in their back yard) and didn't hear her announcing it so they moved onto the next song and came back to the father/daughter dance. It also happened for the groom's mother. I know that my dad and FH's mother won't be on the other side of the house but what if they're in the bathroom??
My last biggest fear is that I have colitis which sometimes causes me to faint and have to go to the ER. If this happens at my wedding, I may have to hurt someone... just saying.

Luckily I haven't heard a lot of horror stories, or I would be paranoid! But I have heard about some crappy vendors in wedding past, Like florists who show you a huge beautiful sample and then day of you end up with crap or a Photographer that lost 1/2 of the wedding photos. And both of these cases were with popular vendors, so it's like you're never safe!
So when we were vendor searching we made sure we were explicit with what we wanted, and made sure the Contract contained every detail we needed so we have it in writing. Also if any changes are made or I need any clarification I always E-mail them, this way again I have it in writing/in hand proof. Hey listen when it comes down to day of I can't control everything but It makes me feel better to be prepared lol.

I haven't heard any horror stories really, but I have seen some timing snafus at weddings and worry about timing on our day. Since it's early March, I'm also worrying that we could have a freak storm that prevents my OOT guests from coming. And my other fear, vain as it may be, is that I'll get a huge unhide-able cold sore and will look awful in all the pics and video.

Ones about Venues closing like without notification or refunds. Hurricanes and snow storms devastating, you know that kind of stuff really makes me nervous.
