QOTD 7/10/08

Good morning ladies!

The John Mayer concert was awesome last night (even though we got POURED on) and I got home SUPER late. Sorry I didn't post the answer until this morning. I was soo exhausted and soaked last night, I just wanted to get in bed and fall asleep.

So anyway... Every time we talk about our cakes, we always talk about how it will be decorated and not what is going to be INSIDE. So my question to you today is.... What type of cake will be on the inside???

Being from and Italian family, we may have cannoli. I may try to do like a half and half type thing though.

I haven't really thought about this. FH LOVES chocolate, so I'm sure we'll definitely have to incorporate that. I guess we'll see if we can do a half and half thing also.

I think we are going to have a Chocolate cake...I want it with strawberries and whipped cream lol

Although, we had a red velvet cake at a wedding recently and it was AWESOME!

i want cannoli! but FH hates that so probably chocolate....

We have a couple of options we are tossing around. We would love a red velvet cake with white chocolate mouse filling and fondant icing.

The other options is White Chocolate Almond Cake with Chocolate Caramel Mouse filling and fondant icing!

Which would you prefer? We haven't gone for a tasting yet so that will be our decision!!

i was thinking red velvet & if not then it will napoleon cake inside. Our Italian families are partial to Napoleon even though its french! lol

Since FH likes cannoli I was thinking doing half cannoli cream with vanilla cake. I would like to have a carrot cake, it sounds so yummy! I love cream cheese icing! But that probably won't happen so I'll probably just have to pick another filling!

i've thought about doing something with lemon, either cake or filling. i think it's prob good if you have more than one choice in the cake for guests, but i haven't given it that much thought.

our cake is included with the RH and I believe the choices are pretty basic- vanilla, chocolate, marble, and maybe one more. FH doesn't like chocolate cake (this was almost a deal-breaker for me ) so we'll probably go with marble.

What's tres leches? Is that like dulce de leche or something?

I am not sure what kind of cake. We are allowed two different cakes so our peice is probably going to be strawberry shortcake and the rest will be some kind of chocolate.

We were soaked at the concert too... we ended up walking down a section and standing under an overhang for most of it!

I don't even know what choices we're allowed to have... but I know there def has to be some form of chocolate in my cake!

Its not like a filling...the center of the cake is soaked in 3 kinds of milk...sweet milk is one of them...the cake texture is different also...it is the most delicious thing ever!!!

We had the most AMAZING cake for our e-party and we might just repeat it. It was a delicious yellow cake with chocolate ghance (no idea how to spell it!)

we sooo want red velvet but we only like 1 person's redvelvet cake and don't know about the hall's. if not that probably yellow cake or pound cake and definitely a fruit filling
