So it has been proven time and time again that people are idiots! They send back RSVP's with no names, extra guests, they call us fat or lazy, they tell us they don't like things we are planning. We have all had our fair share of stupidity during this planning process. This has inspired today's question of the day.....
What is the dumbest thing people have said to you during this process?
For me there have been many...
1. Are you going to try for babies right away? When I tell them we are not planning on having any kids, I have a 9 and 13 year old and he has a 17 year old already, they act like I am crazy!! Then they ask 'so why are you getting married?'
2. A lot of people have told both FH and myself that we are insane to get married again! Thanks for the support people!!
3. And finally....I hate when people hear you are getting married and say Good Luck! How about congratulations ???!!!

I'd say the worst was when I showed my nail lady the picture of my wedding dress and she tapped my stomach and told me to 'work on it'... thanks lady... ummm do my nails and STFU

well I had a co worker tell me that it was dumb to get married if we werent having kids right away. REALLY????? W T F.
The other thing that I get a lot that I HATE is when people say, 'you know, I don't know why you're putting so much effort into this weddding when no one will remember it anyway' its like, wow, thanks.

I work in a suite with a bunch of different lawyers...the admin assistant I sit next to, her boss has told me on numerous occasions not to get married. It goes something like this
HIM: You still getting married? ME: Yup. HIM: Don't do it.
I know he's joking...but then again, he's got an idiot wife so maybe he's really trying to get me off the marriage wagon??

We've gotten the 'why are you getting married' if you don't want kids right now thing a LOT.
We also got, why are you waiting so long (we had a 2 year engagement). Um, because it's damn expensive to have a wedding, that's why! Did you want to pay for it?! Cuz if you did, we'll get married tomorrow lol

People have said 'are you sure that you want to get married?' 'you should marry for money, you can always fall in love' (my FH is a teacher) People are just rude!!!
This woman that works in my office (that I don't work with and has said 7 words to me in the past 3 years) was asking me about the wedding details, and then she YELLED - Well I did not get invited, I don't need to know. . . . . Well then why did you ask

Hmm.. I guess the most annoying comment I get is 'Why are you getting married in NY?' Since I am from Ohio. We have our reasons and its mostly because FH has a much bigger family, but try explaining that to someone in your own family!

Candice i am getting the same remarks as you! I guess it comes from being married before and being an older bride.
1) Are you 2 haveing children.? Um excuse me... by the time I get married I will be almost 48 and if I havent had a child by now there is a reason!!!
2) Are you sure you want to get married again? Ummm - no I am not sure but I am doing it anyway.
3) This was the best one.... I hope this one works out!!

omg the question that drove me nuts towards the end was 'are you nervous?' or 'nervous yet'
this made me go INSANE especially when it was the same people asking this repeatedly.
1. I already told you no...so why do u keep asking? Are you trying to make me nervous or something?!?!?!
2. Are you hoping i say something like 'omg yes I am so nervous...I think I am making a HUGE mistake!!'
ahhhhh

1. 'why did you wait so long to get married?' (weve been together 5 years and engaged a year and a half..I wasn't aware there was a timeline I have to follow.)
2. this was said by my FMIL: 'It's ok if you don't get your period the next few months. You're getting married soon and I want to be a grandma.' HELLOO Can I surivie one major even before we bring on another.
3. 'Can I bring a guest' when on their envelope it just said their name.., If I wanted you to bring a guest I would have wrote AND GUEST!!!

We've been together since september 2008, may 2009 we moved in together, october 2009 we got engaged.
If I didn't know by living with him after a few months, then what is the point?
