Today's QOTD is inspired by an ongoing issue FH and I have, and are still trying to figure out....
Once married, how will you and FH split the major holidays between your families?
FH's parents are divorced and he is not really close with his mom, but he is close with his dad. So he spends Christmas with his mom and Thanksgiving with his dad. FH was also born and raised down here in FL. Since I am a LI girl, I have always spent EVERY holiday on LI with my family. Even after I moved to FL, I still fly up to NY and spend every holiday up there.
So once we are married, I definitely want to continue going to NY for Christmas...with FH. I told FH I would do Thanksgiving with his family. His family doesn't do alot of traditions, and my family is huge on traditions, so giving up any holiday for me will be very hard, but if I had to choose one it would be Thanksgiving. FH and I haven't come to an agreement yet

Well since we been dating we switch it up one year my family for New Year and next year his. For Thanksgiving we actually went to both families. We just balance it out. But when we finally get married and start living together we will be planning New Years, Christmas and Thankgiving, etc. every so often so our families to get together. This is something I am looking forward too.

One good thing about an interfaith relationship...this isn't really a problem!!
Thanksgiving we do my parents...my family has a huuuuuge thing every year and his family is small and in Ohio so it'd be silly to not do it at my parents.
Christmas we will fly to Ohio every year
All Jewish holidays will be with my parents, obv.
If we can afford to fly again, I guess we'll spend Easter in Ohio as well, if not then we'll probably just do something very low key here or I'll find a friend who will invite us to something hehe

FH is really close with his family so we spend the holidays with them. They usually invite my mom over so that we're all together.

I have noooooo clue!!!
For Easter and Christmas Eve it looks like we just started the tradition of going out to eat as one big fam (my mom, his mom, his sister).
For mothers day we will continue to go our separate ways
Thanksgiving .. i dunno
Christmas Day ... i think we might still go w/my mom to my Aunts in Jersey
I THINK i'd like to host Thanksgiving dinner for everyone. (<- This coming from the girl who can't cook, burns toast and then blames it on the toaster )

Right now, I spend time at my family's and FH picks me up and we go to his family's. But I think once we're married we will have our own get togethers where both sides can come to us. And then at other times we will either do my family or his and alternate every other year.

Re: *********QOTD 7/21***********
A few years ago my father & step mom moved out of state so even though I miss them, they actually made the holiday situation easier for FH & I.
Thanksgiving is usually w/his family
We do X-mas Eve @ his parents & my SIL's house (this year my dad & step mom are going to be in town so i'm sure they will spend it @ my sister-in-laws & so will we.....FMIL will love that !!!!)
X-mas is usually at family friends BUT the first x-mas we have our house we will start having it @ our house.
Easter has been spent at his cousin's house the past few years but we ended that as of this past easter. Prob in the future it will at my father's cousins house.

Re: *********QOTD 7/21***********
We've been living together for almost 3 years now, so we've already managed to split holidays.
Easter: church and brunch with FIL's, dinner with my dad and sister's, dessert at FH's aunt's house
Thanksgiving: always at FIL's
Christmas Eve: dinner and church with my mom Christmas morning: breakfast with FIL's Christmas day:dinner with my dad and my sisters Christmas evening: dessert with FIL's at FH's aunt's house
Mother's Day: bbq at our house for both mothers
Father's Day: bbq at FH's aunt's house, then dessert at my sister's

He literally has 3 family members, so that makes life easier. We're going to host Thanksgiving and we're going to celebrate the other holidays by having his family come to my family's house!

Re: *********QOTD 7/21***********
We already have to split and its harder for us being right now FH lives with the FIL's in CT.
Thanksgiving we try to alternate but his family is def smaller then mine .
Xmas depends on what his family does but right nwo we spend it mostly with mine.
It will be alot easier when my parents move to FL we would alternate I guess having holidays by us and maybe going to my parents.

Re: *********QOTD 7/21***********
Same as we always do, first half of the day with my fam, then his, then back to mine
His family is in terrible shape so we spend them all with my family. Except Christmas Eve his awesome cousin Jahn has a party every year that we go to...

Re: *********QOTD 7/21***********
We will probably alternate Thanksgivings, do XMAS eve at my family since thats the day we celebrate, and Christmas at his family. It works out pretty well.
