What family traditions are you and FH going to keep from your families or start when you start your own family?

I am going to give my kids new pjs every christmas eve and we will all match..

We are going to continue to celebrate St Nicholas Day (Its so differnet and thoughtful)

It's late so I'm tired and can't really think, but off the top of my head...

Christmas is ALWAYS huge with FH and I .. we start buying gifts in Oct lolz..and then right after Thanksgiving we have Christmas music on 24/7 in the house and even in the car lolz. We watch all the old Christmas cartoons and movies, drive around looking at lights, try to go into the city to see the tree, of course put up our own tree, send out Christmas cards decorated with stickets..etc...so we'll def keep Christmas big in our home when we have kids..

all the girls in my family pass down middle names...

you take the name of the youngest woman in the family before u... its really sweet because the chain of names has gone on for 3 generations now !!!

I think we'll try to mix our two religions and celebrate the Catholic AND Orthodox Holidays (great . . . two Christmases and two Easters for the Kids!!) and we are sending them to Catholic School (god willing we have some kiddies!!!).

And, they will love Led Zeppelin, Tribe Called Quest, Tupac and Bob Marley . . . .in Honor of their parents.

FH's family arent big on doing family stuff but, from his side we will do Xmas eve together. As far as my family we will always get together with them on the holidays.
Making everyones special dish and dessert for their b-day.
Have to wacth ALL the xmas movies we have fron Thanksgiving til Xmas.
Dying Easter egss, decorating the Christmas tree together.....there are sooo many that I kept with my son that Im going to make sure FH and my future child will have as well. I hope FH does the samething.

Christmas will continue to be the biggest Holiday ever and everything else my family has done we'll still do. Other than that we haven't really talked about it much.

I think the one tradition we might have to start is having our own Christmas... maybe not for the first few years, but once we can afford a house I'd love to have all of our families come over. As it is now we have 2 places to go Christmas Eve and 2 on Christmas Day!

Every Halloween my family would take us to Hicks to see Otto the ghost & go pumpkin picking. FH goes with me now & he likes it too. Every X-mas eve we would all get new PJ's & dinner is always all fishes no meat! But the MOST important thing my family & Fh's family did was everyone would be together for dinner no matter what! Dinner as a family is so important! THAT I WILL DEFINITELY KEEP!

You and FH do exactly what we do! We are Christmas Fanatics! I think it is because my Mommy always made Christmas so special for us and FH's Mom didn't really go all out or make a big stink. So we are going to continue all our fabulous traditions, like new pjs on Christmas eve and making Struffoli for Christmas and getting a REAL Christmas tree. Oh, we will also give one lil Christmas ornament or decoration on the morning of Thanksgiving after we watch the parade, to set the season off. And we always decorate the house on Black Friday, with the exception of the tree, since we get a live one! YAY! I can't wait to make Christmas for our children together!!!!!!!!!!

my family is so corny like the griswold's...there a million things we do that i plan on doing...

The family always gets together to watch our favorite movie Pee Wee Big Adventure

When the summer starts off my dad always opens the camper and insists we sleep in the driveway to get the good summer mojo going...

In my family we greet our elders and say 'bendicion'(asking for a blessing) I want my children to do that.

I cant believe you just said this!! We did this for years!!!!!!! And my parents would make tents for us in our rooms too with our bed sheets and stuff!!!! We would also do it when we would go to my cousins and stuff....!! (I was in europe not too long ago and me and one of my gf's had to stay in the room cause she was sick, so I busted out the tent making skills with the sheets and she couldn't believe it!! We had so much fun just hanging out in it and watching tv.....Me and my bro were talking about it the other night....I suggested it to the fh if we could 'camp out' in the living room and he shot me a look like 'hmm??'

That is def something we are doing...keeping wih the two easters (Greek/catholic)

Jenny!!! FH and I are going to do the PJ thing too - I love it!

Also, we are going to start our own Christmas Eve traditions - right now everything is a mish mosh - we run around like animals - we have lots and lots of Jewish friends who really want to partake in the Christmas festivites so we might have a big party for all of our friends on Christmas Eve

We are also going to start some sort of birthday tradition when we have kids - we both had our own when we were kids so its important to us

We also plan to renew our vows every 10years as an expression of our commitment to each other - first vow renewal will be in Disney
