Good Morning Beautiful Brides!! So excited to be your new BOTW Thank You!!! I have been trying to think of some good questions and if I repeat any questions already asked by a previous BOTW I apologize!
Without further delay here is your question:
Is there anything about your wedding that you chose because it means something to you or reminds you of someone special in your life or maybe someone that you may have lost?
I picked my wedding gown not only because I LOVE it, but because the back of it has lace and it reminds me of Spain (where my mother is from) I am also having butterflies somehow incorporated into my wedding maybe on the cake because my Great Grandma (Nanny) loved butterflies and so do I, and she is no longer with us. I also lost my godmother a few years ago and I miss her so much. I haven't figured it out yet, but I want to do something for her at my wedding too.

i want to wear a piece of my grandmother's jewelry the day of. she passed away last september and it breaks my heart that she won't be around to see me get married!!

We actually chose the RH that my parents were originally supposed to get married at. We loved it anyway, but it was just nice that it had some meaning for them too.
And we chose our donation favors to American Heart Association because FH father and uncle both passed away from heart attacks, and I study the things that cause heart attack and stroke.

We haven't actually done anything beyond almost book the RH but... - We're using purple as our main color. Mostly because my mom and I naturally gravitate toward purple, but it's fitting because purple is the school color of the college where FH and I met and started dating. Everything I own from there is purple, and it's located in the 'Purple Valley' in MA. Heck, my grad school funding comes from them and FH works for another alum. - Ideally, we'd like the cantor from our college to officiate for us. He was the one who saw us grow and come together as a couple. working on that soon... - Also with the college, I may try to get purple cow cake toppers (our school mascot)
That's it so far. But I have (checks wedding countdown) 663 more days to figure out the rest.
I'm guessing you went to Williams?

we are getting married at my grandma's church in honor of her and im also thinking of lighting a candle in the back during the reception in honor of my grandfather and good friend who passed away

since I was born and raised in Brooklyn thats where I went to church and thats where my parents were married as well as my grandparents. The same priest has married both my parents and my grandparents, re-newed my granparents vows, and batized and confirmed me, my brothers and sister.
Since I no longer live in Brooklyn I wil not be getting married there, it would be jsut too crazy but I would still LOVE to have that same priest marry us. So even though I havent asked the church where we will be married I plan on asking. Hope they allow it! It would mean the world to me.

Well you of all people know how bad I wanted an E-Party, heck I'm having it all because of you!!lol..but when we kept going back and forth with the dates August 7th was the only date that worked..and that was the day of my Grandma's Funeral and it will be 4 years this year. That was THE worst day of my life, her having been like a 3rd parent to me. I feel like she knows how it's killing me that she's not here for all of it and she wanted me to remember that day for a good reason now...
I will have a memorial candle for all our grandparents since none of them will be there physically.
We're donating to hospice in Lieu of favors tot he one that took such good care of my other Grandma that passed away in January. Because they mainly are run on donations and to such wonderful care of her with such a difficult disease.

Seriously... chills. I'm so sorry for your loss, but you know for sure you have someone watching over you always now.

As a tribute to my parents and especially since my father passed away we decided to get married on what would have been their 35 wedding anniversary. Additionally, we are going to highlight Prince and Michael Jackson song since we met at a Prince vs Michael Jackson party.

we're having cream & ivory roses as the main flower in the bok's, bouts, and CP. Roses were FH's mother's favorite flower, and we're trying to incorporate her in our special day as much as possible.

we dont really have much.....just that we r getting married at the church my parents did. I will play some frank sinatra songs for my grandma bc he was her fav, and sweet caroline is fh grandfathers song(have no idea y tho)
