FH and I have been thinking about our HM a lot lately. We were thinking Mexico or Aruba or St. Lucia. We finally decided on Mexico Excellence Playa Mujures.
What are the most important things to you in a HM with respect to accommondations, activities, sightseeing etc?
For us it came down to us wanting a vacation to do nothing. We don't want to spend the entire time sightseeing but what the option there if we feel like it. We want to be able to swim with the dolphins. We wanted a hotel that offered luxary at an afforadable rate. We didn't want to have to make reservations for dinner and plan ahead. We wanted a room that was super romantic. We are getting all of this from our resort in Mexico.

we want to do something that we havent done before and that it may be hard to do again in the future. we felt like we could do a certain trips anytime but something like a 12 day trip to hawaii or fiji might not be as easy once kids come and all that. we want a trip where we can relax on the beach but we can also do some activities....we are strongly leaning towards hawaii now but it all depends on budget.

We want a once in a lifetime experience... We also want to do some sightseeing and stuff, so we're looking for something that has everything.

yeah, originally we planned on the greece/italy kinda trip but then we realized it wouldnt be a 'vacation' there because we would wanna see/do as much as possible and we'de just be running around the whole time... now we're probably gonna do st. lucia!

Originally we were going to do a cruise from Greece, Egypt and Turkey but then I realized how cold it will be that time of the year. So now we are looking at Aruba and other hot places where we can lounge around in bathing suits all day and do some siteseeing or water sports if we want to.

We are going to Hawaii b/c we knew if we don't go now we will never go (we are more of europe travelers) We wanted nice hotels but nothing that was like $900/night, we just wanted a nice place to stay since its really just for sleeping. Its more important to us to do really fun and exciting activties so thats where a bulk of the money is going.

We originally wanted to go to Italy/Greece but agreed that we would end up running around the entire 2 weeks, not relaxing. We want to have a week where we can just relax and 1 week sightseeing. We'll probably end up going to Fiji for 1 week and Greece for another. We want a romantic resort with fun, couple things to do.

We're still not sure what we want to do- I just want to go somewhere and relax, but I would LOVE to swim with the dolphins and FH would love to go jet ski-ing.

It will be the first vacation that we are taking that its just us together by ourselves. We wanted to just relax on the beach and do nothing or have the option do some activities if we wanted. I just want to be able to unwind from all the wedding planning and the craziness and just relax

since we have never gone on a 'real' vacation (other then my parents house upstate) in all the years we have been together, we are really looking forward to the entire honeymoon. the quite time, the adventures, sightseeing, etc.
... just wanna lay around on the beach all day, throwin back some drinks & enjoy each others company

I wanted to be able to relax if I wanted and also go sightseeing too when I wanted. I wanted pretty much all inclusive

Same here. Which is exactly why we're looking into Australia. We also need LOTS to do. We get bored very easily.

We figured this is the only time in our lives (until retirement) that we will be able to take a long vacation away from work - so we wanted to take advantage of it!!
We originally considered australia/new zealand, but between flights/price and a few other factors, we started looking into other alternatives.
We were considering Europe & Greece - but the time of year we would be going (right after our wedding) is not really 'beach' weather.
So we definately wanted someplace WARM where we can lay out under the sun...but also a place with lots of stuff to see and do!
We considered costa rica for a while, but then learned that there was a 15 day cruise through the panama canal the week after our wedding.
FH is an engineer and LOVED the idea of seeing the canal in person. I love all the excursion and port stops -- which includes costa rica too!
Once we discussed the cruise, it took us less than a week before we booked it. We got a mini suite with balcony, just because we normally do the cheap inside cabins. So that should be nice for us! Also, we are adding a few days before and after at posh hotels in FL and LA

We have already been to St. Lucia and Jamacia and did the all inclusive resort so we wanted to do something different for our HM!! Plus FH is not a sit on the beach adn relax kinda guy so thats why we decieded on a Mederatin Cruise and a few days in Italy. There I can relax and he will be entertain plus we will get to see so much!!! We also wanted a once in a lifetime kinda trip!!!

I want it all! We know this is going to be the trip that we are going to be like so tired at first so we want: relaxation lounge chairs crystal clear water we want also to do some fun island-ish things like 4x4 around, see the flowers, take hikes... I want to experience hawaii with my FH as much as we can and chillax.

FH and I are really not resort-type people. We like to see natural wonders, historical sites and really get out there and see the culture of different areas. We can't just sit and relax, it's not in our nature to lay on a beach...at least, not for days on end.
