*~*~* QOTD 7/31 *~*~*

Original post by Ivansgirl

Wow this week is flying by!

FH and I have been thinking about our HM a lot lately. We were thinking Mexico or Aruba or St. Lucia. We finally decided on Mexico Excellence Playa Mujures.

What are the most important things to you in a HM with respect to accommondations, activities, sightseeing etc?

For us it came down to us wanting a vacation to do nothing. We don't want to spend the entire time sightseeing but what the option there if we feel like it. We want to be able to swim with the dolphins. We wanted a hotel that offered luxary at an afforadable rate. We didn't want to have to make reservations for dinner and plan ahead. We wanted a room that was super romantic. We are getting all of this from our resort in Mexico.

Well typically me and Fh are totally resort type of people, Im in heaven on an all inclusvie. But we knew that Europe would be very hard to do once we had children so we decided to go for Italy instead. Even though it Europe, we want to relax on our HM. So we decided to go to Venice which combines a lot of history but also amazing food and relaxation at night just to stroll thorough the streets and drink wine! Then for some more relaxation, we decided to go to the Amalfi Coast which is more relaxation but still with history (its Italy, history is all over). Theres beautiful beaches and views there so we are really looking forward to that. As far as accomodations go, we are staying in nice rooms, not the most basic categories but not really suites either. Since we are on a budget, we would personally rather put that money to extra nights rather than the room itself.

At first I was dead set on Tahiti, but FH and I realized we would be spending a fortune to do nothing more than sit on the beach. And if it rains (and Nov starts the rainy season), we would be screwed. So, we are leaning towards Australia and New Zealand now. Both of us have always wanted to go there and the cost is more reasonable than a flight to Tahiti. Also, we get the best of both worlds -- sight seeing and lounging at a beach resort. There are also wineries - which wine tasting is one of our favorite things to do together

We wanted a beachy place we could relax if we wanted, but also somewhere with some daytime and evening activites as well. We will go out and sight see but also wanted the ease of an all enclusive.

Sandals seemed to be our best bet, and we went with St.Lucia bc we liked it the best.

We haven't ironed anything out yet but we do want to do Italy and Luxembourg and make it a longgggg HM. We're going to take a few days after our wedding in February but will put the big trip off until the summer.

I seem to really be intrigued by these on line HM registries. Once my friend returns from hers I will be picking her brain. Her big day is tomorrow so in about 3 weeks I'll have some information.

So b/f FH & I got engaged, he always said that on our Hineymoon he wanted to go to Italy / Sicily to see where it all began (meaning where our families came from). At one point we were even toying around w/the idea of having a destination wedding there and getting married in his Grandmother's childhood church. We decided against this b/c we were afraid of Hineymoon hiyjackers (i.e. FIL's)

So we honestly haven't talked too much in specifics about it but this we have decided, we are going for 3 weeks. Two of which we will be renting a car sight seeing and visiting the towns & villages our families came from. The final week will be spent in a relaxing area where there will be things to do but we can stay stationary. I believe we will be going in the winter ( we still havent set a wedding date yet & at this point i'm sure we will be getting married in the Fall) so that kinda puts a limit on certain things we can do.

Well we planning to go to Tahiti for our HM. We want to stay for 10-12 days and go to Bora Bora and Moorea and maybe a day or two in Tahiti. We loved the idea of going to this truly magical tropical island, is simply a beautiful and romantic getaway. We want to just relax in a spa, go to the beach and dive from our over water bungalow and do lots of excursions water and land.
Can't wait!!!

We are going to Europe and seeing a bunch of countries (Italy, Spain, Croatia, Greece). We want our honeymoon to be a trip that would be un forgetable and see new places. It is also going to be relaxing as well as busy when we want it to be. I cant wait
