~*~*~*~QOTD 7/3/11~*~*~*~

For undergrad I majored in history and then I went to school and got my masters in Social Studies Education. I am currently a middle school social studies teacher and as much as I like it I can see the BS and politics of it all getting to me eventually.

I would really love to work for a museum in some kind of education program.

What did you go to school for?

My original plan had been to receive a business degree, but one day in economics class and I was out of there. I ended up receiving my undergrad degree in teaching, but throughout the whole student teaching process, I realized how many kids got swept under the rug who really needed special attention and care.

What is your profession now?

I ended up going back to school and receiving my masters in social work. Now i get to work with those people who really need the help that everyone sweeps under the rug. It's very rewarding work.

What do you REALLY want to do? If you could have your dream job or profession and not worry about money what would it be?

I definitely enjoy the work I do now, but to make it perfect, I would be doing prevention work with teen girls on self-esteem building and pregnancy prevention (as well as the array of other problems that could be there) Unfortunately, there's no money out there for prevention programs and the ones that do exist, have very little funding

If money weren't an option, i would definitely open my own bistro/cafe type place. I LOVE to cook
