Why did you pick you wedding date?

I picked mine cause we like the number how they are flowing and we wanted spring no too hot not too cold :0)

Having a 'good number' date was important to me since I'm weird with numbers that way. But really we wen't into venue searching open to just about any date. When we found out we can get The 4th of July in our budget FH flipped. It is our favorite holiday (his by far) and we have a big party every year, so we thought it was perfect for US. After that FH wouldn't entertain any date other than 4th of July, so we booked!

FH and I originally wanted to get married in May, on a Saturday night but when we started venue shopping, we were told that flowers outside were usually planted in May and not in full bloom until June. When we finally decided on our venue, they only had Memorial Day weekend available and we did not want that. They only had two Friday's available in June. We decided to go home and think about it and the next day we got a call from the Sand Castle that one of the Friday's in June was just booked. After work I went over and put the deposit down on the Friday that was available which was 6/20/14. It has no significance to us at all. lol

Fh thought ours was easy to remember. I think I have a thing for even numbers too... To me they look neat or something (weird) .. our date is 10.4.14 and 10+4=14 lol

FH and I wanted a date that we would easily remember. We had joked around about 11/12/13 or 12/13/14 and then we realized 11/12/13 was like a tuesday or something and 12/13/14 just happened to fall on a Saturday! We were like... DONE! Then when he proposed on 12/13/12... it REALLY had to be done! Its also the of the consecutive dates for quite some time!!!

I had a date change.. BUT our original date had a story.. We were at a our friends house hanging out and my friend Liz said we really need to pick a date guys you have to start planning..(this was early 2012 and we were engaged for like 6 months already lol) So FH turns to her husband and says do you have a calander for next year? He said yep on my phone..FH then proclaims the first Friday the Thireenth in 2013 is our wedding day.. We both like horror and stuff so it would be perfect.. SO 9/13/13 was our original wedding day.. Unfortunately after Sandy most of FH Groomsmen and famuly had houses that needed to be restored so we pushed the date back 6 months to help them recoup.. But we are both Irish so having our wedding a few days after St. Paddy's day is ok with me too!

Our venue offered the 'best deal'.. 12/13/14.. which I lovedd the date... and 3/1/14... but FH wanted to 3/1 which is fine just less time to save but it all works out

I picked mine because I graduate with my MS in Education in December, and wanted to have the wedding/honeymoon in the Spring and Summer so that when the school year starts back up I won't have to request any time off.

We specifically picked May 25 because it's Sunday of Memorial weekend. That way, our bridal party can still work Friday, come in on Saturday for the rehearsal, wedding sunday, and everyone is off on monday!

We love the idea of early June/late May - warm outside but not HOT yet. We definitely wanted a Saturday night but didn't want a holiday weekend. June 7 was available at our venue so we snagged it!

Our civil ceremony will be on our 10th anniversary. So, we picked the following Saturday to have the ceremony and reception with family and friends.

OMG I do that all the time, I add up numbers or find some way for them to relate hahaha

I wanted summer, preferably the beginning of summer rather then the end. We didn't want 6/6 or 6/13 because those days are our mom's bday & 7/4 is FSIL & FBIL anniversary. WM has 6/20 & 6/27 available. Michael picked 6/20/14 because it was a 'clean, round number' I honestly didn't care lol

I really wanted 1-11-14 b/c I thought it would be easy for us to remember, but Saturdays were a little out of our budget for the venue we wanted. I ended up picking 1-24-14 b/c I felt like it was still pretty easy to remember and I think it looks pretty.

I still get a quick pang of 'WHY DID WE DO THAT?' when I think about how we picked our date but it all worked out. FH is in law enforcement and would only look at dates that he already had off so he could invite his work friends to the wedding. That worked out to be every 3 months so it was either 10 months away (October), or 13 months away (January) because I didn't want to wait any longer than 13 months (just a personal preference). October was obviously more expensive, so we went with January. Needless to say, he was transferred to a new unit he put in for about 2 months later so we limited ourselves for nothing... blarg! It's okay though because I really like the sound of 1/25/14 and we can always go on a caribbean vacay for our anniversaries

I always wanted a September/October wedding so when we went to the venue they had 1 day in September available and a few dates in October.

I'm weird with numbers and for some reason September just didn't sound right to me. They had 10/3/14 available (which is my dads birthday) 10/10/14, 10/17/14 or 10/18/14 available. The 17th I didn't like the way it sounded and the 18th was $6,000.00 more. I really liked the way October 10th 2014 sounded so we picked that!!

We picked a summer wedding only because that would be the only time my family and friends can travel to NY. We picked August hoping it wouldn't be as hot as the previous summer months (if it were up to FH and I and if my parents could've made it, we would've gotten married in January since both of us hate the heat). As for the 17th, I picked that date because my parents anniversary is on January 17th, and I hope FH and I can be as happy as they are in their married lives.

We picked it cause we knew we wanted fall and it is the anniversary of when we started dating.

That is so funny we have the same wedding date. The only two dates available at Sand Castle were 6/20 and 6/27 also! We got 6/20 by default since someone snagged 6/27 first. It didn't matter to us though!

haha It was the first friday we could get at our venue! We would have loved a may or june wedding but we were perfectly happy with july since we really just wanted a summer wedding. :)

I wanted a summer wedding. More importantly on my parents anniversary. Fh is miserable in summer though. I hate being cold so winter was out plus fh is a sanitation worker and the city owns him in winter. My allergies are miserable in spring so we settled on fall. We went with 10/12/14 because its easy to remember and a sunday where most people are off the next day since its columbus day.
